Daniel & Kayla had seen each other many times at Grinders in Hartville, as Kayla worked there and Daniel & the guys from the farm were regulars.
Summer of 2019, Daniel & Kayla ran into each other at the Carrol County Fair. They said hello to each other and went on their way.
A few days later, Daniel messaged Kayla on Facebook Messenger and from there they got to know one another.

Summer of 2023, Daniel restored a John Deere 4230. Kayla joked that if when Daniel was done & went to unveil it, that it’d be a cute way to propose with a ring on the front of the tractor.
On December 9, 2023, Daniel was in the shop at the farm cleaning up the tractor. Kayla stopped by to say hello and was just about to leave when Daniel stopped her and said, “Do you remember the comment you made when I finished the tractor this past Summer, something about a ring?” As Daniel said this, he got down on one knee & proceeded to ask Kayla to marry him.
