It was summer of 2022; Love was in the air. Friends had gathered at Bowlero Kenner (formerly known as AMF All Star Lanes) for a night of birthday celebration and fun. At the time, I was not the best bowler (still not), but I decided to make a bet that I would beat him that night. Little did I know I was about to fall in love with this guy... I'll never forget looking and seeing a dark-skinned muscular man with a beautiful white smile and thinking how could a girl like me beat a guy like that in bowling? His name was Perry Batiste, and I was determined to win, Perry and I didn't spend too much time together in the beginning stages of dating, but we both felt the chemistry. Four months later, our connection kept growing. Perry had been asking me for weeks would I take a mini getaway with him to Biloxi Mississippi. I'll never forget my answer were always "uhhhh, maybe" or " give me some time to think." One day I finally called and said, "let's just getaway." We returned on November 13, 2022, when he finally asked me to be his girlfriend. After he spent tons of money on me at the Riverwalk... So, let's fast forward to March 1, 2023. it was a breezy, quiet evening. I had been telling Perry I wanted Crawfish, Shrimp, Sausage, and Potatoes from J and J's seafood. We got it and drove to the lakefront. At first, we were sitting underneath a pavilion, but I kept swapping at a bunch of bugs especially bees. So, we moved and went ate on my car. After finishing, I turned to rinse and wash my hands. When I turned back around, I found Perry on one knee... Of course I was shocked! He didn't have the box in his hand yet, so my first response was "What are you doing?" He then proceeded to profess his love and looked me in my eyes and said, "Will you Marry Me?" I immediately said "Yes!" We have continued our dating and engagement journey by growing together, learning each other, traveling together, and falling more in love every day. We are grateful God led us to each other. Now it's time to continue our love story in Holy Matrimony.
