The Story of Us

Dan and Kaylee's story is a continuous loop of chance meetings and random dates spread out over several years before they realized their fate - they belong together! But it took time and patience. Dan &amp; Kaylee first met in their early teens, leading to a Facebook friendship! A key first step, even though things didn't progress beyond that for two more years, when they would meet again. This time, with help from Dan's wingman, his dad! As Kaylee was getting ready for prom at her friend's house, Jim was there and during their conversation, Kaylee learned that Dan and she would both be attending SUNY Morrisville that fall. Like all great dad's, Jim quickly pointed out Dan's best qualities and suggested that they carpool. Despite that, Dan and Kaylee only bumped into one another very few times during their time together at college. Their romance-to-be was going to need another spark. Three years later when Kaylee graduated and returned home, she took a 'swipe' on an infamous dating app and they met again! Third time's the charm, right? This time, they took their biggest step yet and went on a date! The date went so well that they decided they didn't want the night to end. So, they decided to catch a movie after dinner just to make the evening last a little longer. After that, there were a couple of more dates, but Kaylee wasn't ready to commit to a relationship at that time. Even though they weren't dating, Dan and Kaylee had created a friendship, the foundation of all great relationships! Progress! Fast-forward two more years and guess what? They met again! This time at a work orientation for WSWHE BOCES. Kaylee quickly grabbed this opportunity and asked Dan afterwards if he would like to get together again. Wisely, Dan agreed and before they knew it they were spending every minute together. It was as if no time had passed. Then, one brisk fall night a few months later, Dan was driving Kaylee home when he finally asked Kaylee to be his girlfriend. Well, he started to ask, but he only got as far as "So, I was thinking..." before Kaylee cut him off and shouted "YES"! After years of near misses and bad timing, fate finally brought Dan &amp; Kaylee together. Then, after almost two years of dating, countless trips &amp; vacations, buying a house together, and adopting their beloved dog, Bruce, Dan knew that the timing was right to propose. So, he planned a great surprise at Waterfront Park on Saratoga Lake where they had previously shared a fantastic date early in their relationship. As far as Kaylee knew, they were going to dinner with Dan's family, but he insisted on stopping at the Park beforehand. Kaylee however, insisted that they didn't have time because they were already late for dinner. But, little did she know what was to come! On Saturday, August 5th 2023, Dan got down on one knee and proposed to Kaylee. Afterwards, they spent the rest of the night celebrating alongside their families at Carson's Woodside Tavern. A great beginning to a true love story! Thank you for being a part of our story - we are excited for our next chapter together and cannot wait to celebrate our special day with all of you - our families and closest friends!
