Everyone who has it tries to boil it down into simple phrases — “marry your best friend,” “love means never having to say you’re sorry,” “love conquers all.” But it’s only ever that simple in the rearview mirror. Love is also work.It’s forgiving even when they don’t deserve it.It’s sacrificing even when you don’t want to.It’s changing plans when you thought you had it all figured out. But when you’re lucky — it’s all those things, and it’s totally, unquestionably worth it. New updates for travel into the Schengen Zone (Europe):As of April 2026 all travelers will be required to comply with the new Entry/Exit System (EES). This will happen at your airport of arrival and will collect your biometric data. This is not optional, but we promise it is painless! All you need for 2026 is a valid passport and you will have your photo taken and/or fingerprints scanned. You do not need to have ETIAS yet, this will begin to rollout in Q4 of 2026. Is your passport up to date?International travel requires that your passport has 6 months or more of validity after your return date as well as at least 2 blank visa pages in the document.Now is a great time to check that your passport is good to go for April 2026! The easiest way to coordinate your travel is by flying into Barcelona Airport (BCN). From here, you can arrange a taxi to take you to your hotel. Taxis will cost between 35 and 45 euros and are readily available at the airport. Looking for a cheaper way to get to and from the airport? Big fan of public transportation? Barcelona features metro, bus, and train options as well all for around 5 euros.

Here you will find the hotel options we have contracted to have room blocks with. European hotels are slighly different and room blocks do not guarantee the best rates, rather just reserved rooms. We encourage you to book with rates provided by the website or other travel sites. Additionally, there are plenty of hotels around the two hotels where the shuttles will pick up. Please consider all accomodation options, including Airbnb, to find the best rate for you. We recommend the hotels here because we have specifically coordinated shuttles to and from the venue. You are welcome to stay elsewhere, but please keep in mind that it will be your responsibility to get to these hotels on time for shuttle departure. Should you choose to stay elsewhere, we strongly recommend staying in the L'Eixample neigborhood. Another friendly note when looking at hotels, single means one (1) person, double means two (2) people (i.e. a couple). When booking at one of the block hotels you will need to specify whether you need one bed or two. These hotels are small (European problems) so four to a room is very unlikely, and extremely uncomfortable.

There will likely be a wait but it is absolutely worth it. Traditional Spanish tapas with plenty to choose from for all palates!

Vinitus

This entire restaurant is a vibe. A smaller menu but absolutely delicious. Come for dinner and stay for the cocktail bar located on the second floor. When you are seated for dinner make sure to ask them to reserve you a spot at their upstairs bar, Boca Chica, for elegant, creative cocktails. And if that wasn't enough, this group has a night club several blocks away. Want to party all night? We recommend Chica Club.

Boca Grande

Tapas, caberet, and drag queens oh my! This place has it all. The basement bar and caberet club is in fact ranked as one of the 150 bars one must visit before they die (and we agree).

Ocaña

BEST MARTINI EVER (a direct quote from Kaylee). This place cares so much about the martini they have a running count of how many martinis they have served and guests can request a certificate with their name to always remember what number they got. Don't panic, there are plenty other libations on their menu.

Dry Martini Barcelona

Why go to Barcelona and not see the iconic work of Antoni Gaudi. A work of art more than 140 years in the making, the Sagrada Familia is scheduled to be completed in 2026. Tickets are required in advance and sell out. The standard self-guided tour is 26 euro, a guided tour is 30 euro. For a tour that includes a climb to one of the Basilica's towers is 36 euro for self-guided and 40 euro for guided (please note this option features many stairs!).

1. Basílica de la Sagrada Família

Another classic Barcelona must see showcasing some of the city's best Art Nouveau style! A vast walking adventure through various parks and gardens featuring unique architectural elements dating back to it's creation in 1900. Tickets must be purchased in advance to your visit and are 18 euro for basic entrance.

2. Park Güell

Fan of Picasso? Of course you are, you're not Daniel! See incredible works of art from Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, from his early works of landscape to more creative interpretations of the human form (read as cubism). This museum boasts the largest collection of original Picasso works. Tickets and admission reservations recommended prior to your visit. Cost of general admission with no audio guide is 14 euros.

3. Picasso Museum Barcelona

One of the largest museums in Spain and featuring an outstanding collection of Romanesque paintings, the National Art Museum of Catalonia is a must-see for art lovers visiting Barcelona. If art doesn't speak to you, maybe the Palau Nacional building the museum is housed in will. Tickets are recommended in advance. General admission is 12 euro.

4. Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya

If this wasn't included on the list, Daniel may not go through with this marriage. Are you interested in soccer? Consider attending a match in the largest stadium in Europe! No luck with games lining up during your stay, or getting your hands on tickets, Camp Nou also offers tickets to their museum and stadium tour.

5. Camp Nou

Put that black eyeliner away because it's a whole different type of gothic. Get your walking shoes and camera ready to explore the narrow, winding medieval streets of this historic neighborhood filled with charming shops, cafes, and trendy bars. This neighborhood starts roughly 4 blocks from the hotels we selected and goes all the way to the Mediterranean seafront.

6. Gothic Quarter

Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca stated that La Rambla is "the only street in the world which I wish would never end." So what are you waiting for, see it for yourself! One of the most vibrant streets in all of Barcelona, this pedestrian avenue boasts street performers, shops, restaurants, historic buildings, flower stalls, and a direct path to the scenic Mediterranean.

Bring a towel and your swimsuit for 422 meters (that's 1,385 feet) of beach right next to the bustling downtown and in the Barceloneta neighborhood of the Old Town fishing district. Along the beach there are plenty of bars and restaurants to try fresh caught Mediterranean seafood and Spanish tapas. Sunrises here are highly recommended!

We will not be providing a group flight so make sure to check all airlines for the best deals. Do not sleep on JetBlue as they have roundtrip flights from JFK to BCN for under $500! I'M MAKING A VACATION OUT OF THIS, WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?Traveling throughout Spain or Europe? Take advantage of your flight over the Atlantic by extending your time! There are cheap short flight options (EasyJet, Vueling, Ryanair) and plenty of trains if you are coming from a different European city, just make sure you coordinate your arrival for Friday, April 24 in case of any potential delays. Thinking of a cruise? You can book a Mediterranean or Adriatic cruise that will depart out of the port in Barcelona!&nbsp;

We promise, it will not be much fun for them and it will be loud and quite adult in nature (IYKYK). All children are welcome to make an appearance at the Welcome Cocktail Hour on Friday night. CAN I BRING A DATE?Your invitation will note if you have a plus one. Please keep in mind that if we know your partner, their name is already likely included in your invitation.

Event Details Please

WILL THE WEDDING BE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?The entire wedding and reception will be outside. During April in Spain you can expect low 70s during the day and 60s at night. We will have heaters available for after the sun goes down. Please keep in mind our venue is in the hills outside of Barcelona so it may be chillier. In the event of rain or other extreme weather (please don’t speak this into existence), everything will be pivoted to be inside the “castle” at La Baronia. HOW FAR AWAY FROM EVERYTHING ARE THE HOTELS?Both hotels on our <a href="https://www.theknot.com/us/kaylee-krager-and-daniel-henderson-2026-04-25/travel" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Travel Page</a> are in downtown Barcelona, in the vibrant L’Eixample neighborhood. The Welcome Cocktail hour is a 15-20 minute, 0.9 mile walk from both hotels, or you can opt for a taxi or rideshare for a more comfortable 10 minute ride. The wedding is approximately 45 minutes from downtown Barcelona. Shuttle buses will be provided to transport all guests to and from La Baronia. The shuttle schedule will be communicated here on our website closer to the wedding date and will be provided to our hotel guests at check-in. WHY DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHERE I'M STAYING IN MY RSVP?Knowing where you are staying will help us assist as much as possible with shuttle coordination.&nbsp;

A note about the weather: April in Barcelona is fairly mild with a low chance of rain, knock on wood. It is likely that we’ll have a wonderful low 70-degree afternoons/evenings (for the ceremony) and low 60-degree nights (for the bus ride home). Don’t worry ladies, that’s why your man has a suit jacket. 😉 I NEED MY SUIT/TUX PRESSEDDon't worry you have options! Most hotels should be able to assist you at the concierge. It will likely take a full day so do this as soon as you arrive!!! If you do not want to use your hotel, we recommend Ecosec Dry Cleaner located at Carrer de Girona, 47, Eixample, 08009 Barcelona. I DON'T WANT TO ACCIDENTALLY MATCH THE WEDDING PARTY—WHAT SHOULD I AVOID WEARING?We’ve all been there at least once. Without giving away too much—avoid champagne and dark forest green.
