Q + A

What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable and yourself at our wedding! We suggest jeans or dress pants with a nice shirt or a dress.

Am I invited to the ceremony, reception, or both?

There is limited space at our ceremony, so please pay close attention to what your invite says. However, everyone is welcome at the reception.

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

The ceremony will be taking place in West Union. Due to limited space, only a few people are invited to the ceremony. If this is you, the address is listed on your invitation. The reception will be taking place at Pinter's Event Center in Decorah, Iowa located at 2475 State Hwy 9, Decorah, IA 52101.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors. However, there is an outdoor area at the reception if you choose to take a short breather from the dance floor.

What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures at both venues. Guests who attended the ceremony can head straight to the reception for cocktail hour. Guests who are only attending the reception may head straight to the reception to begin our celebration.

I am only attending the reception, what time should I get there?

We suggest guests begin arriving around 4:30, and no later than 5:00. This will ensure that dinner can begin at 5:30.

How do I get to the reception venue?

To get to Pinter's Event Center, go to the intersection of highway 9 and highway 150. At the four way stop sign, head west on highway 9 for approximately 5 miles. You will see the event center, which is connected to Pinter's Garden and Pumpkins on the south side of the road.

Where should I park?

Guests should park in the Pinter's Garden and Pumpkins parking lot. After leaving your car, you may walk past the front of the store to the event center.

Will there be transportation provided to and from the hotel and reception?

There will not be transportation provided, so please celebrate responsibly so you can get back home or to your hotel safely at the end of the night.

Are the ceremony and reception handicap accessible?

Yes, both venues are handicap accessible. There is a ramp on the side of the building (closest to the parking lot) at the ceremony site. There are no stairs to the reception venue.

When is the RSVP deadline? How do I RSVP?

Please send your RSVP in before May 27th, 2026 so that we can ensure enough seats and food for all of our guests. We ask that you RSVP using our wedding website, which you can find under the RSVP page. If you have trouble doing so, please contact the bride or groom.

Are kids welcome?

We love kids but must stay on budget, so please check your invitation. If their names are listed, or your invitation says "family," we would love to see your kids there! If they are not included on your invitation, please make arrangements and enjoy your night away from them.

Can I bring a plus one?

We have a strict guest list in order to stay on budget, so our celebration is strictly RSVP only. Please only bring those that are listed on your wedding invitation.

What time is the reception scheduled to end?

We hope everyone can stay and celebrate with us until 11:00 PM.

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Yes, we have two hotel blocks set up for guests. For more information, please see the travel page of our wedding website.

I have a question not answered here, who should I contact?

Before our wedding date, please feel free to contact the bride or groom with any questions. If you have a question on the day of the wedding, please contact one of the bride's aunts, Beth Mehmen at 319-631-1512, or DeeAnn Hebrink at 319-361-9776.
