Our Wedding

We Swiped Right

Scotty and Kaylee’s love story began on an app called Bumble, where a simple right swipe sparked a meaningful connection. From that moment on, they talked every day, getting to know each other and slowly building something truly special.

Our official journey together began

After a couple of months of getting to know each other, Kaylee invited Scotty to be her plus one to her brother’s wedding. The very next day —August 10th, 2019 — Scotty asked Kaylee to be his girlfriend, marking the beginning of their official journey together

We moved in together 

The Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020 hit and Kaylee moved in with Scotty and his brother’s family. Then December of 2020, Scotty and Kaylee moved into their apartment together.

Laughter and Adventures

Scotty and Kaylee spent several years creating a beautiful and healthy foundation for the future of their lives together through laughter, adventures, and giving each other a safe space to be themselves. Kaylee pushes Scotty outside of his comfort zone and Scotty is the calm in Kaylee’s storm. They are like two pieces to a puzzle that fit just right.

We Got Engaged

On April 1st, 2025 Scotty took Kaylee to a troll art exhibit located very close to their apartment together. They stopped at the first troll to take in the beauty of the art work. Just as Kaylee started to venture towards the next troll, Scotty got down on one knee and told Kaylee he wanted to be her fool forever and asked her to marry him.

Brittany - Matron of Honor

Brittany is one of Scotty’s long term friends. Kaylee and Brittany became very fast friends soon after Scotty started dating Kaylee. They have shared many adventures together including, a Chicago trip for St. Patty’s day, countless of Halloween parties, and many game nights, etc. Kaylee and Scotty are very thankful to have a friend like Brittany.

Katie - Maid of Honor

Katie is one of Kaylee’s best friends. They met through Scotty’s cousin and then started working together and soon after, a very special friendship started to form. She is someone Kaylee can always rely on to be there when she needs her most and she never fails to show up even in the littlest of ways. Everyone needs a friend like Katie.

Rachel - Bridesmaid

Rachel is Kaylee’s sister-in-law. She was very shy when she first joined Kaylee’s family but shortly after, Rachel and Kaylee’s friendship started to blossom and she opened up and showed off her goofy, kindhearted self. Kaylee’s favorite thing to do with Rachel is play games, be goofy together and share their favorite form of communication together, random noises. Rachel is a sister Kaylee wasn’t born with but will forever be thankful to have now.

Desirae - Bridesmaid

Desi is Scotty’s sister. She was just a teenager when Kaylee first met her and Kaylee is very honored to have gotten to watch her grow into the beautiful young woman she is today. Her bright and vibrant personality and love for her family will forever be cherished by Kaylee. Desi is the little sister Kaylee never got to have but Kaylee is very thankful to have her as a little sister now.

Breanna - Bridesmaid

Brea is Scotty’s brother Brandon’s fiancée. She quickly took on that sister role with Kaylee. Covid-19 hit the year of 2020 and Brea and Brandon welcomed Kaylee into their home to live with them and Scotty. Brea and Kaylee created a sisterhood between each other that Kaylee will forever cherish. Her down to earth attitude and the ability to be there for others no matter what is going on in life will forever be Kaylee’s favorite things about her. Kaylee is very excited to officially call Brea family.

The Lords

Brandon - Best Man

Brandon is the second oldest of the Hix siblings. Only being a year and a half younger than Scotty, they were raised closely together. They had their spats as most brothers do, but grew especially close once entering adulthood. Scotty would be lost without him by his side.

Darron - Groomsman

Darron is one of Scotty's many cousins. They grew up in the same neighborhood and went through school together. They spent a lot of time playing video games and backyard sports throughout their childhood. Scotty views him as the older brother he never had.

Justin - Groomsman

Justin and Scotty have been friends for the past 15 years since meeting as freshmen at the University of Findlay. They got to know each other well due to living in the same dorm. They were also roommates junior year. Although life can sometimes get busy, Scotty is grateful to still consider Justin one of his closest friends.

Shane - Groomsman

Shane and Scotty also met as freshmen at the University of Findlay. They've both been within the same friend circle for much of their adulthood and share many of the same nerdy interests. They began the tradition of attending the Renaissance Faire while back in college and still look forwarding to attending when their schedules align.

Joel - Groomsman

Joel is the youngest of Scotty's brothers. With an 11 year age gap between them, they unfortunately did not get to experience childhood together. Scotty is proud to have him beside him for the big day.

Trish

Scotty and Kaylee met Trish through their mutual love for video games. She has become one of Kaylee’s close friends. Kaylee enjoys watching Trish stream and show the world how amazing she truly is. Kaylee values Trish’s fun personality and beautiful soul. Scotty and Kaylee are very thankful Trish is going to be such a big part of their special day.

About the Venue

Parking

Parking is a little limited around the building but there is plenty of parking in the area. All of the P symbols located on the map are public parking areas for you to park in on the day of the wedding. Please enter in the building through the entrance where the star symbol is located on the map and take the elevator to the 4th floor. The ceremony and reception will be held on the 4th floor of the building.

Ceremony and Reception Location

This is a layout of the 4th floor of the building. The wedding ceremony and reception will be held in the William McKinley room which will be to the right when you get off of the elevator. There will be a cocktail hour held between the ceremony and the reception in the lobby area of the 4th floor which will be the area when you first walk off the elevator.
