Camilo & Kaylee had their first conversations while caring for the same patients in the summer of 2023. Camilo was just finishing his first year of neurology residency at The Medical University of South Carolina & Kaylee was working at her first job as a nurse. Small talk was had between the two at work and Camilo shared his love for the Harry Potter series once seeing Kaylee's last name in a Nursing Note. One of their first interactions, & a story Camilo loves to tell, is when Kaylee interrupted Camilo's patient presentation to his attending (his boss) to give them her own opinion on the matter. Kaylee later paged Camilo apologizing for the interruption, & signed the page from "Harry Potter" because she knew he would know who it was from. In the days following, they only referred to each other by Harry Potter references & she told everyone at work she was just "making a friend". But ask anyone & they would say these two were definitely flirting!

Once Camilo finished his rotation on Kaylee's unit, Kaylee very shyly followed him on Instagram after work one day. A very bold move on her part, but what was even bolder was when Camilo slid into her Direct Messages a few days later with a screenshot of dinner reservations! So the first date was planned, & the two had their first meal together on July 2nd of 2023. They had dinner at Gale Restaurant in Downtown Charleston, which is sadly now closed. Conversation was made easy & the more they talked, the more they didn't want the night to end. Time flew by & all of a sudden the servers were putting up chairs & closing! The bartender gave them a free drink & told them it was closing time. Maybe for the restaurant, but not for these two. "One more drink" was had at a nearby bar & it's believed by this time of the first date, Camilo & Kaylee both knew something special was just beginning. Camilo dropped Kaylee off at home (with having to be at work in just four hours), & she immediately went to tell all her best friends & her mom about the resident that had truly taken her by surprise.

Camilo originally said his plan would wait 12-18 months before getting engaged. But as time passed, they both knew that this was it. Kaylee couldn't even think of the possibility of marrying this man without getting teary eyed & over joyed. Planning started months ahead of time, without Kaylee suspecting a thing. One cold December day while out-and- about they decided to make a last minute stop to look at rings, just for fun & to get some ideas. Camilo went the following week & picked out the perfect ring. Kaylee was super sneaky when she started trying to figure out Camilo's plans. Kaylee's friends & family were certainly not budging towards giving any clues away but Camilo was not the best secret keeper. When talking about the big day the couple often said "You are my best friend, who else am I to talk to about the best day of our lives?". They were both giddy with excitement & could hardly stand the wait. The plan was intricate & the day was made perfect by all the friends & family that were in Charleston to celebrate the new bride & groom to be. Some drove, some flew in (even from a different country) & when the day finally came, the two couldn't agree more that it was truly the most perfect weekend. The couple headed to Magnolia Garden on Sunday morning of May twenty-sixth, twenty-twenty four. Kaylee spent extra time getting ready that morning & the two drove hand in hand to the Garden with happy tears in their eyes knowing what was coming. He asked & she happily said yes! It felt like a long time coming for this day. From there, the couple met with their friends & family to celebrate with everyone they loved. Two families were now together as one!

As the countdown begins towards the "I Do" day, we will never be able to thank everyone enough for how much love & support we felt this day, & every day after that leading up to our wedding. So for that we thank you all & cannot wait to celebrate this love on September 27th, 2025!
