Justin and Kaylee’s story is a very special one; it teaches a lot about patience and true love. The story starts back in elementary school, some date it back to second grade but who’s to argue that. Justin says the only reason he ever got her, was because he had the 64 pack of crayons with the sharpener in the back. They’ve always had an eye for each other growing up and hung out whenever they could. Justin always wanted to be with Kaylee, but she wanted to “just be friends”. Well all the way up to 7th grade it worked. They secretly crushed on eachother, till highschool rolled around and that quote “lets just be friends” did not work anymore and Justin finally had his shot. Kaylee soon realized how much Justin really meant to her and decided to give dating him a try. Justin never officially asked Kaylee to be his girlfriend, but in his mind he didn’t really have to because everything just naturally fell into place. Now I know you're wondering well how did they have an anniversary? The answer to that is when they went on their “first date” to a Brother Martin football game and then to a movie where they shared their “first kiss” as a couple, that’s how they decided their anniversary September 26th, 2015. Their Freshman year of highschool is where it all started. Having a highschool sweetheart is such a unique type of relationship.They got to grow, learn, and experience success and failure in life together at such a young age. Justin and Kaylee went to all their highschool dances, shared many milestones together and definitely made the most out of it. It doesn't stop there, the story is actually just beginning. After serious consideration for the both of them deciding where or if they were going off to college together or separate and how they were going to make the relationship still work through it all. Turns out they both decided to stay home and start working on their desired careers straight out of highschool. While Justin worked on the river he decided to take some business management classes with a concentration in logistics at Delgado. While Kaylee went to Paul Mitchell to become a hairstylist. After Kaylee graduated beauty school, she had a rollercoaster ride of a start in her career. Shortly after she finally got steady and quickly started building up clientele. Justin on the other hand wasn’t really happy with the career path he chose and wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. Shortly after Justin decided he wanted to be a lineman. He started going to night school at Delgado while working during the day. While in school Justin got the crazy idea and felt the need to finally propose after just 7 years of dating the love of his life. Justin was taking a gamble with this since he didn’t really have a steady career job at the time, but he figured everything will all work out in the end and when you love somebody you have to do what you feel is right. So, October 14, 2022 is the day Justin decided to propose to his lovely fiancé in front of the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral, she of course said “YES!”. Shortly after the proposal Justin finally got his job with Entergy in Chalmette and couldn’t be happier. Justin and Kaylee both love their careers so much and can't wait to learn and grow together. They can’t wait to start their journey as a married couple and share many memories together and with friends and family. Although it’s not easy they’re having a blast planning their perfect day together.
