Sometimes life hides the right person in plain sight and waits for the perfect moment to reveal them — and our story is proof of that.

It all started at the Gotham Club, a private social club inside Oracle Park in San Francisco, home of the Giants… where I wasn’t even there.

Ryan was at the game with his dad, enjoying the day, when my sister-in-law’s mom and aunt spotted him. They immediately went into full matchmaker mode. They struck up a conversation, somehow ended up talking about me, and decided on the spot that we absolutely needed to meet. By the end of the game, they had his number — and soon after, so did I.

When they handed me his number and mentioned he was from San Bruno — just like me — and was now living in Sacramento — also just like me — I automatically assumed I must already know him. After all, same small hometown, same area code… how could I not?

A few days later, I finally worked up the courage to text him. What started as simple small talk quickly turned into easy, effortless conversations. It didn’t take long before we decided to meet in person at a cozy local restaurant in downtown Sacramento.

On that first date, as we swapped stories and bonded over shared interests, we discovered something unbelievable: we had grown up in the same city, just five minutes apart, our entire lives. All those years living so close, crossing the same streets, visiting the same places — and never crossing paths. It felt like we were taking a journey we didn’t even know we were meant to take together. Little did we know our lives had been weaving around each other long before we ever met.

And now here we are, getting ready for the next chapter. After everything life did to finally bring us together, we’re so excited for what comes next. We can’t wait to celebrate this marriage — not just the wedding day, but the life we’re building after it!
