Our Wedding

Our story started on dating website called Hinge back in the Summer of 2020 specifically August 15th. Kayley liked a photo of mine where I was singing at a friends wedding. I led off with the line, "A wedding + karaoke, is what I'm made for to be honest! Hi I'm Josh!" We initially connected over our love of singing and New Girl. She said that she aspires to be Jessica Day, and that she was a teacher and that she felt like Jessica Day was her role model. I came back with I'm a mixture between Nick Miller and Schmidt. We talked back and forth on Hinge messenger for roughly a week and half. She let me know that her Hinge account would expire at the end of the month of August and she gave me her number, that's right, I didn't even have to ask for it. Our first meeting and date was Taco Mama on August 25th. She met me with a hug and a "It's nice to finally meet you in person." After Taco Mama we went to Mountain Brook Creamery for some dessert afterwards and ended the night by taking the long way back to her vehicle and doing one of my favorite things, riding in the truck listening and singing along to music. Our second date and the moment I knew she was the one took place at her friends Matt and Mica's house whom she was living with at the time. She made a home cooked meal that consisted of Tuscan Chicken and a risotto spinach dish. After the very first bite I melted in my seat and told myself she was the one.

Josh's Side of the Story

We have the modern style of a classic love story. A dating app. Josh and I matched on Hinge in August of 2020. I could tell he was kind and genuine and I wanted to get to know him more. I had asked for his number the 3rd day that we talked... and he ignored me. Which, honestly, made me into him even more. Before we had matched, I had ended my subscription to the app knowing that school would start and the time to meet people would be gone for the next several months. So, a week after he ignored my request for his number, I sent him mine and told him if he wanted to talk he'd have to call me. He finally asked me on our first date and it was a wonderful. We talked, laughed, and didn't want it to end. I asked that we take the long ride home just so I could have more time with him. The second date was quickly planned and I was going to cook him dinner. I swear that the good Lord himself came and helped me. I had never cooked such an amazing meal. I took a bite of the creamy tuscan chicken and risoto... and I KNEW. He wasn't going anywhere. We often say that we wished we knew each other five years ago. The truth is we weren't ready for each other then. God's timing is perfect and our love and friendship is supremely blessed by the lessons we've learned. I'm thankful for Hinge.I'm thankful for His perfect timing.I'm thankful for Creamy Tuscan Chicken.I'm thankful for becoming Mrs. Holt.
