The pandemic wasn't all bad - some good things came out of it, like virtual bingo. Alex and I were members of a social league called LI Kick. He joined the league in Nassau and I joined in Suffolk - the chances of us meeting were slim to none. Enter pandemic - we all know how that went, no actual contact with people, all social things out the window. LI Kick was now at a standstill, until virtual bingo came along. I remember getting the email thinking "virtual bingo? how dumb". Long story short, there was literally nothing else to do, so why not try it out. Alex must have figured the same and he joined in too. Twice a week there were anywhere from 50-100 people joining in on the fun from all over the place, including different states. Alex picked me out of a little square box on Zoom and decided he was going to give it a shot. He wrote in the chat box - "single much"? I of course was like "excuse me?!", not interested buddy. That didn't stop him though, he proceeded to message me - even when my responses weren't inviting. Then one day they put up a meme and we were tasked with adding a caption. Alex shot me a one liner and I burst out laughing (can't hide that on Zoom). It was then that he figured he had a chance. Fast forward 4 years later, we're getting married! While I can't say I ever won during the bingo games we played, I think my prize turned out to be pretty great.
