Our Story

Nick and Kay met at Sacred Heart University through mutual friends during their senior year of college. They met up for the first time in March of 2018, on St. Patrick’s Day in NYC. They went to the parade with friends, followed by The Perfect Pint rooftop bar. The next month, in April of 2018, Nick asked Kay to his fraternity’s senior formal on his birthday! They also went as dates to their senior graduation ball a few weeks later in May. After graduation, the summer of 2018, Nick and Kay continued to stay in touch. They went on many dates throughout the summer and into the fall. During this time they developed strong feelings for each other, and fell in love. They made their relationship official October 6th of 2018, when Nick asked Kay to be his girlfriend during their first alumni weekend at SHU. For this reason, SHU holds a special place in Nick and Kay’s hearts because it was where their love story began.

Nick and Kay dated from 2018 to 2023. On March 18th, 2023, Nick took Kay on a date to NYC for St. Patrick’s Day weekend, not only to celebrate Kay’s favorite holiday, but to celebrate 5 years since the day they first met. Little did Kay know that Nick had planned this day out for months, and it was going to change her life forever. Nick took Kay out on a lunch date, and then they went for a walk on the High Line. At the end of the High Line was The Vessel, where Nick got down on one knee and proposed! Nick even had one of his best friends and photographer, Kevin, capture the moment in real time. Kay was in complete shock, so surprised, and overwhelmed with joy. Of course for Kay it was the easiest "Yes" to marrying the love of her life, and spending forever with her best friend. After FaceTiming their families with the exciting news, Nick then surprised Kay with an open bar with all of their friends at their favorite Irish pub, The Dead Rabbit. After the open bar, Nick had another surprise waiting for Kay. They met their families at The Perfect Pint rooftop bar, to further celebrate their engagement. Nick purposely planned The Perfect Pint, because it was the same bar where they first met, exactly 5 years ago, on the same St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Now, 5 years later, they were at the same place celebrating their engagement. It was such a nostalgic and sentimental day for both Nick and Kay.

Now they are in the midst of planning the most important and special day of all, the wedding day! Nick and Kay are so excited to celebrate their marriage surrounded by all their family and friends. Most importantly, they are looking forward to spending a lifetime of love and happiness together.
