The story of Sandra and Keegan starts on the last day of March in 2022. Katherine (that’s me), Keegan’s older sister orchestrated their introduction. Sandy and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings for a dinner date, since I hadn’t seen her since she started her new job after teaching. After catching up, I told Sandra that I wanted to set her up with my brother, Keegan. Sandy was hesitant at first, but I was already texting Keegan making things happen. Plans were made for the two to meet up, but I may have had other plans. The next day on April 1st, my husband and I had a get-together at the house and I invited both Sandy and Keegan; I may have also “forgot” to mention to the other that they both would be attending. This is where the plot thickens and their love story begins.

At this time Keegan was an antisocial, focused-on-life goals type of individual; he wasn’t looking for a relationship. However, they fell quickly after meeting on April Fool’s Day.

Keegan fell in love with her selflessness, intense love for football, and her compassionate heart. While Sandra fell for his grumpy demeanor with a sprinkle of devotion to the people he loves and his reliability. They bonded over things like spending time with people who are important to them, movies, the Percy Jackson book series, Marvel, and football (even though that topic can become tense very quickly).

After a couple of months of seeing each other, on June 26th Keegan asked Sandra to officially be his girlfriend.

Throughout their relationship, they have overcome many trials, such as Keegan’s dislike for the beach and Sandra’s love for it. Keegan’s love for the cold versus Sandra’s love for the heat. Sandra’s love for traveling versus Keegan’s love for being a homebody. The biggest feat to date has been the Jan 1, 2024, Michigan vs. Alabama game which Bama sadly lost…. (which honestly I’m happy for Keegan in this regard cause that could have ended badly). Deals have been negotiated many times between these two’s differences, but somehow in the end they have made it.

In August of 2024, sadly Sandra’s father fell ill. She traveled to Tupelo to be there with her family for ten days and to see her father return home. Throughout 2024, Keegan had been trying to determine the right time to propose. During her time away he was hit with the realization many people in love are: “ I don’t want to live without them”. This is when the planning began. The ring was picked out and an elaborate plan with Katherine and his mother was schemed.

On Sunday, Sept 8, 2024, Keegan’s family went out for Keegan’s birthday dinner. After dinner, the family returned to Katherine’s house, where it all began....Keegan constructed a proposal that he knew would warm Sandy’s heart, by incorporating the family, and his niece, Adalynn, by turning on the song “Paper Rings” by T. Swift and pulling Sandra into the living room to dance around and be silly. After the chorus of this song, “I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings” the music cut off and Keegan was down on one knee waiting with her very own paper ring (ya’ll my mom and him literally covered her engagement ring with paper)! Needless to say, while decked out from head to toe in her Lion’s gear (because it was Sunday!) she said “YES!” to marrying my little brother. And well there you have it.
