Keegan and I met while country swing dancing with a nonprofit called country kickup in the winter of 2021. He was teaching at the time while I was just learning. Then eventually, I wanted to start teaching as well. We spent a lot of time around each other and I started to grow a little crush. He started liking me as well, but the timing was not right, he was still in college and trying to figure out finances and other situations going on in his life. Fast forward about 3 and half years later to January 2025 and he started to show some interest in, but I told myself a few years ago that this relationship was not going to happen, so I was just excited that Keegan was attempting to deepen our friendship. Little did I know that he wanted more at first. We continued to talk more and Keegan began to share his heart about Jesus and I could see how much he genuinely loved the Lord and wanted to bring him Glory. There were moments I’d be looking at him and think “this man is so handsome”, but since I told myself this relationship wouldn’t work I push those thoughts away, but eventually my walls started coming down. I loved talking and laughing with this man and I found myself wanting to spend more and more time with him.

Things began to develop more and there was a night we were talking and I was about to ask him if he liked me, he realized what I was about to ask and he was going to ask the same thing, so he stopped me and asked if he could share first. I let him. He started talking about how he liked me and wanted to take me on a date. Our first Date was March 19th at OakMaple, and they had some amazing waffles, but the thing that really stood out to me was I could talk with this man for hours, he brought so much peace, he felt like home and I felt so safe with him. The way he pursued( and still does) my heart, it was like nothing I have ever experienced. He was direct and forward with his goals for this relationship. Early on he knew he loved me and he told me so. Quickly after that( I am prone to analyzing every little thing lol), I also told him I loved him! As we have gone on dates from the beginning, to all of our trips to the mountains to the movie nights and doing errands together I have only fallen deeper in love with this man. We already knew early on that we planned on getting married.

Since we have known each other for about 4 years and were friends before this relationship, we really got to see a lot of ups and downs we experienced over the years and how we responded .Originally, in my head on how the length of dating should go, I was thinking dating for a least a year. Obviously that did not happen, I’m starting physical therapy school in January 2027 and we already knew we wanted to be married, so we went forward with getting engaged sooner than later. To throw me off, Keegan make it seem like he was going to propose in February 2026, so when the proposal happened in November I was definitely surprised. On November 23rd Keegan asked me to marry him in Texas( where I am from), of course I said yes!! The entire day of the proposal was so sweet and intentional. This trip to Texas, I was under the impression that it was a job for Keegan’s drone business. So, once we got to Texas and our rental car was a convertible mustang( my favorite car), I was a little suspicious, but he said it was for a business trip. As the day continued Keegan took me to a fancy lunch, had a playlist he created that had all the songs I’ve shared with him over this past year( this got me suspicious as well lol), and then we went to the botanical garden in Houston for the drone shoot. One of the big shoots Keegan wanted to get was at sunset( just so you are aware I love sunsets and gardens), so once we got there we went up this big maze hill with a beautiful waterfall coming down it. Once we got to the top, there were a lot of people and Keegan realized he had to charge his new drone controller, so we went back down the hill and went under this beautiful gazebo( I love love gazebos) to charge it. Keegan started practicing using the new drone when one of the workers at the park hollered that the park closed in 15-20 minutes( apparently online it stated it was open longer). Internally Keegan was thinking, “well I’ll need to propose now”, so as Keegan was flying the drone he set it up right in front of the gazebo and then as this was happening he went on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was a very very sweet moment and day!!
