Our Wedding

Like all great love stories, we met online. Well, kind of. We met in September 2020 during the pandemic in an online university class. Keir was in his 5th year, about to graduate with a (first class! swoon!!) Masters in Aeromechanical Engineering, and Carly just six months earlier had decided to go back to university and get her Masters in Environmental Sustainability. We were put in a work group together, one was possibly better at physics than the other (he was an academic, she was a chancer) homework help was given and the rest is history. Over the last four and a half years we travelled near and far, seeing white sand beaches in the north of Scotland, fish in the red sea while snorkelling in Jordan, experienced Disneyworld together in Florida and even had a few wipe outs while skiing in France. While we love travelling, there's no place like home. And home isn't just a place, its people too. So with all that to say, we hope you, the people we call home, can join us for the most special day of our lives so far.

Our Glencoe Engagement

We headed up to Glencoe for an anniversary weekend away and Carly had a pretty good idea of what was coming. It had been in the works for a while.

Through The Years

Over the last three years Carly and I have done a fair bit together and here are some of our highlights. We always enjoy skiing in the Alps although one of us likes spending more time at Apres than the other. I have inflicted F1 on Carly long enough that she's now a genuine fan and thoroughly enjoyed channeling her inner Max Verstappen when I took her go-karting. We can't go anywhere without trying to get some nice pictures so here's a few holiday snaps from Iceland, Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan. The last image of Carly enjoying Puppy Yoga for her birthday which she claimed was the happiest/best day of her life. I'm not sure if this changed when I proposed but I know which day was the happiest/best of my life so far.

Since we didn't get any "proper" pictures of the actual proposal we headed up Calton Hill when we got back. It might have been the windiest day of the year. Please enjoy our dramatic windswept hair.

General Information 1. When and where is the wedding taking place?Our wedding will be held on 7th June 2025 at Yester Estate located in Gifford. The ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM sharp, followed by a drinks reception. Drinks on arrival from 12:00 PM. 2. Are children or pets allowed at the wedding?This will be an adults-only celebration, and no pets are allowed on the grounds of the estate. Thank you for understanding! 3. What is the dress code?We would love for our guests to dress in formal attire. Our wedding colour palette is Grapefruit, Citrus colours and greens (see images at bottom of page). We encourage summer colours and florals. Please note that the ceremony will be outdoors and on grass so plan accordingly (avoid stiletto heels). Please refrain from wearing white attire, including white-based patterns. 4. Can I bring a plus one?Our wedding is an intimate affair, and we have limited space. If your invitation includes a plus one, their name will be listed on the invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out to us. 5. What time should I arrive?We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins to find your seat and get settled. Drinks will be served from 12:00 PM, and the ceremony will start at 1:00 PM. 6. Is there parking available at the venue?Yes, there is onsite parking available. You can also park overnight and pick up your car on Sunday morning. Instructions for Sunday pick-up will be provided on the day of the wedding. Ceremony &amp; Reception 8. Will the ceremony and reception be at the same location?Yes, the ceremony and reception will both be held on the grounds at Yester Estate. 9. What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?Once we send out RSVPs please respond with your dietary requirements and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. 10. Will there be dancing?Absolutely! We will have a ceilidh followed by a covers. 11. Can I take pictures during the ceremony?We kindly request an unplugged ceremony, meaning no photos or videos during the ceremony (Keir would prefer you don't use your phone all day but especially during any big moments). Our photographer will capture all the special moments, and we can’t wait to share them with you! 12. Is smoking or vaping allowed at the venue?Smoking and vaping are not permitted within the wedding grounds. Guests may smoke in the designated area in the car park. Travel &amp; Accommodation 13. Are there hotel accommodations nearby?Yes, there are multiple Hotels in Haddington, and East Lothian as well as AirBnbs near the venue. We recommend having a look around to see what suits your party. 14. Will there be transportation between Dumbarton and the venue?Yes! A bus will be provided to transport guests to and from Dumbarton. Please get in touch if you would like to reserve a seat on the bus. Gifts &amp; Registry15. Can we bring gifts/is there a wedding registry?Your presence truly is the greatest gift and we so appreciate people travelling from all over to attend. If you would like to give something, instead of physical gifts, we would love for our guests to contribute to our honeymoon fund. Closer to the wedding date, there will be an opportunity to gift us specific activities and experiences for our honeymoon. Miscellaneous16.
