Can you believe it? Kelby and RaShae are finally getting married!

Depending on who you ask, our story begins in different ways. If you ask one, they will say it started when Kelby brought his track team into Subway. If you ask the other, another story comes out. It all started when two people decided to swipe right. The truth is, it started with two paths crossing at just the right time.On a freezing cold winter day in 2019, Kelby had been in western Iowa for a few months. RaShae, over 40 miles away, was living life post-college in her hometown. The stars aligned and Kelby came into RaShae’s life. Kelby walked in to talk with the sandwich artist. What began as a simple conversation soon turned into a first date… and then another. From the very beginning, it felt like something extraordinary was unfolding.Our first time hanging out was unforgettable. Kelby likes to think it was his charm that won RaShae over, but she insists it was his cooking. Either way, those early days quickly showed us that we had found something rare and lasting.Through a combined love for adventure, learning new places we had the opportunity to call home, trying new restaurants, and above all—doing things, we became each other's go-to person, navigating life hand in hand.Then it all came to an abrupt stop. During a very unprecedented few years in the world or in our tiny apartment, the one thing we were consistently sure about was each other. From disc golfing at parks in the area, to binge watching shows on Netflix, to being in the gym for basketball games with a mask on, we were so happy our early days were in the geode capital of the world.In our seven years of dating, we've moved places four times, traveled to 26 US states, and made countless memories, many alongside the friends and family who mean the world to us.Ask us what we love most about one another, and the answer is simple yet profound. Kelby admires the way RaShae grounds him, bringing both peace and joy into every day. RaShae treasures Kelby’s ability to turn the simplest of moments into the grandest adventures.Together, we’ve discovered that love isn’t just about the places you go, but about who you share the journey with. Join us this summer as we say "I do" and kick off the next phase of our life together in a place that is fitting for the both of us. When Mitchell walked into Kelby’s dorm room freshman year looking for directions to a building on campus, he got a map and a best friend. We haven't stopped hanging out since. Since then he’s held many titles in Kelby’s life: student-athlete, roommate, and best friend. Today he adds one more: Best Man.

Melanie is Kelby’s oldest sister who turned into RaShae’s best friend! She’s always felt like a sister to RaShae. She is always there to help and an ear to listen.

Sister of Kelby. Leslie and RaShae have grown closer over the last 7 years. She brings joy and comedic energy when she’s around. Oh! And she’s got a cute dog too, Tucker!

Drew was one of Kelby’s residents during his first year as an RA in Slater Hall. What began as an RA–resident connection quickly turned into a lasting friendship that has grown into a brotherhood. Today, they still bond over the Hawkeyes, hoops, fantasy sports, and life in general.

Friend of RaShae. RaShae and Lara work together at Lou Henry Elementary and became instant friends and can talk to each other about anything!

Matt was Kelby’s first boss in college, but it didn’t take long for that working relationship to turn into a strong friendship. Since then, they’ve taken many “Kelby Road Trips” and have gone on some wild adventures across the country. Today, they’re officiating partners, spending plenty of time together on and off the court and field.

RaShae’s sister-in-law. Kaelah is a big sister that RaShae has never had. She has blessed RaShae with one niece(Arya) and two nephews(Jaxon and Kyzer). The Balmer family creates lots of joy!

Levi is RaShae’s oldest brother. Whether on the disc golf course or at the pool table, Levi has a knack for beating Kelby and RaShae almost every time.

Isaiah is a friend of Kelby and RaShae and a big fan of football, hockey, Star Wars, and winning at Uno No Mercy. If you hear laughter nearby, there’s a good chance Isaiah is the reason. He has a way of lighting up every room he's in!

Reagan is the sweetest flower girl we could've asked for. And at just four years old, she's already ready to take on the big-girl job of flower girl.
