In the fall of 2020 semester at Texas A&M, Ethan and Kelley were in an online floral design class together. They also both worked at Sweet Eugenes, a coffee shop in College Station. At the time, they did not know each other. Around October, Kelley went back to Weatherford and asked her best friend, Jackie, to look him up on instagram because she thought he was cute and fun to work with. Sadly, he was currently unavailable.
In January of 2021, Ethan asked Kelley on their "first date." One of the first times to see each other without a mask on... who knew Ethan had a mustache? That semester, Ethan and Kelley spent most of their time going to date parties, semi-formals, and formals for Ethan’s fraternity, BYX, and Kelley’s org, ASC. They officially started dating on April 7th.
Summer of 2021, was definitely one for the books, Kelley and Ethan did hometown visits to Weatherford and Lubbock. Then Kelley left for a month to go to Kenya while Ethan stayed in Houston for his internship. The 9 hour time difference was challenging, but definitely strengthened their relationship from the very beginning. But what was an even more eventful experience was Kelley getting an ameba (parasite) that lasted for over 2 weeks, including her birthday! Ethan had to support from a distance (maybe for the best haha).
The next semester was full of a lot of ‘lasts’, Ethan's last semester in college, his last football season, his last semester in BYX, and so much more. It was once again full of date parties, semis, and formals, but also so much Fightin Texas Aggie Football (honorable mention to beating the HELL outta ALABAMA), study dates, and way too much coffee. Then Ethan graduated! WHOOP! He stayed in College Station to work full time.
Spring 2022, Kelley and Ethan spent a lot of time watching Aggie baseball. Kelley got her Aggie ring. Ethan finally dunked his ring after 2 years.
The following summer started the wedding season for the next 2 years! They made any excuse to be with each other and friends while both working full time jobs in different cities.
Fall 2022 was Kelley’s last football season in undergrad, so they soaked every second of it in. Even standing in the freezing rain just to watch the Aggies. This was a crazy semester, but they made the most of every situation they could. And of course, more weddings.
Spring 2023, was Kelley’s last semester in undergrad, but they knew they wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. Lots of weddings, lots of baseball, lots of coco loco, and lots of time with friends who would be moving away so soon!
THEN!!! Kelley graduated, but that wasn’t it! Kelley’s family convinced her they were taking professional “family photos.” They all took a few with Kelley and her diploma, but they wanted to drive down to the pond on the land of the AirBnB. There, Ethan was standing and Kelley knew exactly what was going to happen (she had known for a while). Ethan got down on one knee and asked Kelley to marry him, and the best part, Kelley said YES! Kelley had planned her whole grad party, but family and friends turned what she had planned into an engagement party!
This summer, Kelley and Ethan have spent a lot of time at weddings and planning their own. Kelley has gone back to school to get her master’s degree in 1 year. Buckle up, here comes a very exciting and crazy season of their life!
In the past 3 years, Kelley and Ethan have gone through so much! Along with so many wonderful times they have spent together and celebrating, they have had quite a few extremely difficult times where they have mourned with and supported each other. They are ready for the next year, but most thrilled about the rest of their lives together. They will be moving to Millsap, Texas after Kelley graduates and they get married. They are over the moon to celebrate how the Lord has orchestrated their story so well and dance the night away with all of their favorite people at their wedding!
