Damion and I met on the online dating app HINGE on January 15, 2023. After he "liked" one of my prompts, we started chatting and eventually scheduled our first date for January 27 at BellaGreen in the City Centre. (Unbeknownst to Damion, my daughter and her boyfriend were on standby just in case), but my worries were unfounded. Damion was a perfect gentleman—sweet, cute, and our conversation flowed seamlessly. By the end of the evening, he expressed his desire to see me again. (Swoon!)

The next day, he asked for my number, and our long phone calls and texting began. I told my friends and family that Damion was one of the nicest guys I'd ever met, and that remains true. He is thoughtful and has a servant's heart, but what truly made him stand out was his love for his three daughters. The bond he shares with them is heartwarming, and it was something I admired greatly.

We took our time, but falling in love seemed inevitable, and I do love this man! Damion proposed in Galveston on June 23, 2024. He noticed two birds and said, "We could be two Byrds. I love you. Will you marry me?" Spoiler alert—I said YES!

I'm so thankful for Damion. He reminds me that God sees me, knows the desires of my heart, and fulfills them. Damion is a testament to God's grace in my life.

And I can't wait to be Kelli Byrd!!
