"My best friend's brother?" Nah. My brother's best friend. Our story is not short and sweet... maybe just sweet.
The bride and groom met in high school? Middle school? Forever ago. He was the brother's marching band friend and she was "Little Galbraith" (she found out later he didn't actually know her first name). It was piano lessons of all things that led to a friendship. After jazz band, she would teach him Game of Thrones themes in exchange for a ride home; maybe after they'd play on a swing set or with bouncy balls after rehearsal like goofballs, maybe he'd stay for dinner, and maybe they'd stay up talking until 2am. There was pure shock on the bride's brother's face the first time the groom showed up to the door for his sister:
"Oh.. hey Josh.. wait, I didn't invite you over......oh."
Then, the groom went off to college and after 3 years of friendship, she considered him her "boy best friend" (yeah that'll last). After quite a bit of "talking" he asked her out on one knee at sunset (cheeseball) on July 31st, 2019. Both excited to tell their families, his mother asked "Wait you weren't already dating?"
Through the next (too) many years, every August and January was a sorrowful goodbye for the start of a college semester- but that's what cars are for. Not to worry, there were plenty of summers, weekend visits, spontaneous date nights and vacations along the way. By the end of the bride's college experience, the groom was well integrated in her college life (this is important for later).
After much hinting and joking that "you just pushed it back a week," a hopeful groom-to-be put a ring in his jacket pocket before their Mardis-Gras/pre-valentine's day dinner. Alas, it was 20 degrees and the bride was scantily clad, so the couple returned home to the bride's Slippery Rock Apartment. Little did she know the groom had called her roommates half an hour before. Oblivious to the dimmed lights, romantic music, and strange roommate behavior, the bride asked for a picture.
And instead got a proposal.
The bride and groom are so excited to share the next and most important part of their love story with you all. This is just the beginning...
