Cray and I went on or first date at the Cafe in Ames. Cray loves well made, good food. We both wanted to continue the date, so we both ordered dessert. I got the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. It was the best I've ever had. You could say he had me at Creme Brulee!

The first time we had our dogs meet each other, we took them to Maine's Grove to walk around the park. They both learned to love each other. They quickly figured out how to treat each other like siblings; Reggie, the goofy little brother, and Ellie, the bossy older sister.

On Good Friday, the first nice day both of us were free after the winter thaw, Cray suggested that we take the dogs for a walk. I had been a bum all day, enjoying my day off, but I always love wandering around with the dogs so I got ready. We of course went to Maine's Grove, our dog's favorite place to roam around. When we got there and the dogs were harnessed up, Cray suggested we go a different route than we normally take. I remember thinking, "Why the heck do you want to go backwards?" but I didn't care it was a beautiful day. My suspicion that a proposal may happen had been up so many times in the past few months that I thought nothing of it. We walked and chatted and finished our journey checking out the dock. At that moment, I knew something was up. Cray handed both dog leashes to me and got down on one knee. It was perfect!
