How We Met

We actually met at a summer garage party — you know, the kind where every surface is sticky and everyone suddenly thinks they're a professional beer-pong athlete. We were playing beer pong on different tables when Kelli, ever the overachiever, went diving after a rogue pong ball that bounced off a red Solo cup. She almost wiped out right in front of Tyler, but managed to save both her dignity and the ball… mostly.

Later, Tyler messaged her with the smoothest pick-up line ever crafted:

“Are you the girl who fell going after that pong ball?”

The First Date

Our first date kicked off with mini golf at Sunview Golf in Edinboro. Kelli won — and has been bragging about it ever since (if you ask Tyler, he let her win). After, we grabbed ice cream, getting to know one another until one of Tyler’s new roommates called and said, “Hey, want to come check out the house you’re moving into?”

So naturally, the date turned into a house tour. Kelli met both roommates, inspected the future living conditions, and somehow didn’t run away. It ended up being a long, spontaneous, wonderfully weird first date — full of fun, spontaneous side quests, and coincidences.

The Journey So Far

Since then, we’ve had plenty of adventures: exploring the Dominican Republic, screaming our lungs out on rides at Disney World, skydiving in Grove City (because apparently jumping out of a plane strengthens a relationship), and “golfing” together. Tyler actually golfs; Kelli mostly donates golf balls to local forests and ponds.

But honestly, our favorite days are the quiet ones — watching movies, hanging out with friends and family, and pretending we’re responsible adults. This past summer, Tyler proposed at Presque Isle on our five-year anniversary!

Now we’re living in an apartment together with our two beloved cats, Big Miss and Lits — who graciously allow us to share the space with them.
