It was Memorial Day weekend, 2021. A perfect Saturday to go to the park — and an even better day for Kelli to meet her future husband.

Kelli and her friend, Kaitlyn, were posted up on a blanket outside Park Tavern, soaking in the sunshine. They were accompanied by two adorable pups, Sophie and Wayne — neither of which were theirs.

Just a few feet away, Corbin and his friends were enjoying some refreshments of their own. It was Corbin’s backwards hat that first caught Kelli’s eye.

Eventually, the guys made their way over and offered the girls their pick: a Red Bull Vodka or a canned seltzer. The girls wisely chose the seltzers, leaving the boys with the consequences of their questionable drink choices.

Kelli and Corbin hit it off right away. They had known each other for all of 20 minutes and Corbin was already fishing for an invite to a wedding Kelli was in that following weekend in Charleston. Eventually, they went their separate ways but Corbin made sure to get her number before they left the park that day.

But as it goes sometimes, the summer got busy, and they never made it past the initial talking phase.

Until fate stepped in.

On a crisp fall night, Kelli and some friends decided to head down to the local watering hole we call Moe’s and Joe’s. As soon as Kelli was done taking a shot, she turned around and to her surprise, Corbin was standing right behind her.

The spark reignited — and this time, it stuck!

Fast forward three years, and Kelli and Corbin found themselves back in Piedmont Park, in the very same spot where they met. Only this time, they were joined by their dog, Woody.

Corbin looked at Woody and said, “This is where I met your mama.” Then he got down on one knee and asked Kelli to marry him.

(Spoiler alert: she said yes!)

It’s clear fate had a hand in bringing these two together, and they can’t wait to celebrate their next chapter with all their favorite people on 12/6.
