A Catholic Mass is a two thousand year old traditional service (usually attended weekly by practicing Catholics) involving readings from the Bible, a sermon from the Priest, and the receiving of the Eucharist.
Our wedding ceremony includes a Catholic Mass, so you can expect a longer service (plan for around an hour) as well as a more reverent atmosphere.
Don't worry, we will have handouts to explain everything at the church. You are always welcome to ask your neighbor if you're lost.
What's the dress code for the wedding Mass?
The dress code is Black Tie Optional or Formal. Out of respect for the Church, please use your best judgement to dress modestly. You're more than welcome to change into your dancing shoes for the reception!
Are kids invited?
Your babies are special to us and we would love them to be a part of our special day! Both the Wedding Mass and reception are kid-friendly. We will have kid-friendly food options and activities.
What if my kid cries during Mass?
Children are considered a blessing in Catholic culture. We understand that blessings can sometimes be quite vocal, but don't worry! We are used to it and consider it quite normal for kids to act like kids. If your child needs extra time to collect themselves, there's an atrium at the back of the church. You are also welcome to walk outside and get some fresh air.
There is a 3 hour window between Mass and the reception. What should I do?
You can use this time however you want! You can take a little "disco" nap, catch the football game at a local bar, or visit the "Things to Do" section of the website for some fun Dallas activities.
Is there parking on site?
Yes! St. Thomas Aquinas has a parking lot and we have arranged for our guests to use the parking garage at the Park City Club.
Can I bring a guest/ date?
If you received a plus one, your guest's name is listed on your invitation and will appear under your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as an intimate event with those who are closest to us. Thank you for understanding!
