Will you be blocking rooms at a hotel?

At this time we have decided not to block rooms at a specific hotel. As long time travelers to the area we understand that some may prefer a cabin in the mountains or some may enjoy the convivence of being located in a hotel in the heart of downtown. We would like to leave these options open to our guests and would be happy to provide recommendations to guests who are not familiar with the area!

Should I stay in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge?

If you don't mind driving to activities, stay in Pigeon Forge. If you like to park, stay in Gatlinburg. We prefer Gatlinburg when staying in a hotel or condo because we love walking into town at night when we return from our days activities. Other than hiking in the park, being on the strip in Gatlinburg is our favorite activity when visiting (especially the moonshine tastings!!).

What are the pros and cons to staying in Sevierville?

Sevierville is known for its picturesque landscapes and views. It's located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. We found staying in a cabin in Sevierville to be the most relaxing and quiet locations around Gatlinburg. Sevierville was the furthest away from Gatlinburg so we found we did a lot more driving. If you prefer a more secluded experience an Airbnb Cabin may be best for you, just know you may be doing a bit more driving if you plan to do activities in downtown Gatlinburg!

What are the benefits to staying in downtown Gatlinburg?

Known as “The Strip”, the downtown area is the most popular vacation destination in the Smoky Mountains. One of the best parts of staying in a Gatlinburg hotel on the Strip is how easy it is to walk to attractions and restaurants. When you stay at a hotel in Gatlinburg, you will be right in the midst of all the fun in downtown Gatlinburg. Contending with traffic and searching for affordable parking spots can be pain. Fortunately, when you stay downtown you will have free parking and can walk to most places downtown. Another benefit to staying near the strip is how close you are to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The main entrance to the park is at the end of the Gatlinburg Strip, so you’re just a short drive away from some of the most breathtaking mountain views and exhilarating hiking opportunities.

What are the benefits to staying in a Cabin?

Cabins provide a more authentic Smoky Mountain experience than other types of lodging. Many cabins are located outside the heart of downtown and provide a more peaceful experience. Cabins are great if you want seclusion and space.
