Jack and Kellie met nearly 10 years ago during their freshman year at Santa Clara University. Kellie was there to play Division I soccer, and Jack was there to “take classes and have fun”. After their first meeting at a party freshman year, Jack proudly declared to his friends that, "I am going to marry that girl someday." Although he kept his promise, their journey as a couple had not yet started.

By senior year, they were both single and grew a more profound friendship which blossomed into a “college fling”. From there, they took each other to various soccer and fraternity date events and the occasional ice cream date. However, they went their separate ways after graduation, with Jack moving to Austin, TX for a new job and Kellie heading to Sweden to play soccer.

They hadn't spoken after graduation until early 2020, when they both found themselves back in the San Francisco Bay Area. They reconnected after a fluke encounter - Jack was driving to San Francisco to see friends and spotted Kellie on a run. He honked his horn loud, which frightened her at the time, but he quickly texted, "Hi, that was me! How are you?". From there, they rekindled their “college fling”.

Jack and Kellie navigated the dating scene during lockdown thereafter by going on walks, runs, cooking for each other, and having drinks in the park. Their relationship went to the next level during Christmas 2021 when they both got COVID and couldn't go home for the holidays. Being stuck in a small apartment together for 3 weeks can really make or break a relationship. They passed with flying colors.

Eventually, they moved-in together in the Marina District of San Francisco and created many wonderful memories in and around the city and through their various travels, half marathons, and cocktails at the local dive bar “Horseshoe”. In August of 2024, they moved into their first home in Walnut Creek, CA and are looking forward to building their life together in the East Bay.

Jack asked Eric and Nancy for their permission to marry Kellie while on a trip to Phoenix in October 2023. A few months later, on February 23rd, 2024, he followed through and proposed to Kellie while on a hike back in Phoenix, surrounded by her brother Michael and his wife Alyssa.
