In April of 2020, just after the breakout of Covid-19, Ian and Kelly found themselves spending most of their time at home. They both happened to download Hinge, a popular dating app. Soon enough, they met each other. Ian liked Kelly's sense of adventure, passion for her career, and her casual, laid-back style (her tattoos didn't hurt, either!) Kelly enjoyed Ian's love for the outdoors and the various interests they already had in common (bowling, skiing/snowboarding, music, and eating).

Ian and Kelly's first "date" was a Zoom call out of concern for Covid-19. The two hit it off immediately. Eventually, they met in person at Saratoga Spa State Park, where they could walk and talk. It was a cold, snowy and windy day after a week of warm, spring weather (of course). As the weeks went on, Ian spent many days driving down to Albany from Saratoga to spend time with Kelly, her friends, and her lovely greyhound, Bailey. Kelly also made the drive in the opposite direction to spend time with Ian and his friends.

Kelly fell in love with Ian's sense of humor, calm demeanor and kindness towards others (especially his closest friends). Ian felt the same way, and officially asked Kelly to be his girlfriend on June 30th, 2020, after an evening of consuming beer and pho.

Over the last three years, Ian and Kelly have shared many adventures together, including Ian's first plane ride (to Denver), a trip to Tampa to visit Kelly's alma mater, trips to the Finger Lakes region for greyhound meetups, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, visiting each other's families on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley, various concerts, golf, and beer-league softball.

On July 2nd, 2022, Ian proposed to Kelly on Reeves Beach, Kelly's childhood beach spot on the North Shore of Long Island. Kelly had just enough time to say "yes!" before it started down-pouring. It was perfect.

Kelly and Ian are thrilled to celebrate their special day with their closest friends and family on October 4th, 2024.
