There are many great mountains in the Caroga Lake and surrounding Adirondack Region. Our favorite is Kane Mountain, located about a mile from the lake. This picture was taken from the fire tower at the top of the mountain. Check out the website for more popular trails in the area!

Water Activities

In the Caroga Lake area, there are many beautiful lakes within a few miles that you could spend your time at. Not only is there West Caroga Lake (which is where the wedding reception takes place) and East Caroga Lake, the connecting lake, there is also many others within a 5 mile area. Some popular lakes include; Canada Lake, Pine Lake, Peck Lake, and Green Lake. During the early summer these lakes are perfect for fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, and much more!

Restaurants

There are many great restaurants in the immediate Caroga Lake area. Some popular ones are Nick Stoner Inn & 19th Hole, Vrooman's, Slate A Rustic Tavern, and Dick & Peg's Northwood Inn. These restaurants' also have very popular local bars as well. There are many restaurant chains located in Johnstown as well! One of our favorite restaurants, Romana's Family Kitchen, is located here.

Golfing

In Caroga Lake, about a mile from Sherman's, the Nick Stoner Golf Course is located. Nick Stoner's includes an 18-hole regulation golf course for those to enjoy.

Breweries

In the surrounding Caroga Lake area, there are multiple breweries that are great to check out if you have extra time on the weekend! The closest to the venue is Stump City Brewery, which is a popular, local attraction in the area. A bit farther away is the Great Sacandaga Brewing and the Kessler Brewing Company.

Zoo

Still located in Fulton County, is the famous Adirondack Animal Land. This is a popular zoo where you can see many different types of animals!

Caroga Historical Museum

Right up the road from Sherman's is the Caroga Historical Museum. This is nice attraction if you'd like to learn more about the history of Caroga during your time here!

Shopping

Right near Caroga Lake is multiple, cute, local shops that are the best place to buy necessity items, Adirondack merchandise, and quick food! We love the Canada Lake Store, Caroga Lake Store, and Camper's Corner Store. Our favorite is the Canada Lake Store which has a great Cafe and the best breakfast sandwiches.
