Q + A

Entering the venue

Go to the main entrance, and park in the main parking area. You will go to the ticket counter. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY A TICKET. Notify the staff you are here for the Cobb/Krause wedding, and they will direct you where to go. If you choose to do any park activities, or join us in the park on Saturday, you will need to purchase tickets.

Thoughts on what to wear

Business casual. Jacket and tie are optional, but please no jeans. The ceremony and reception will all be outdoors. There may be some walking on the lawns. There are walkways, but grounds are uneven. Average temperature in March for Ocala is in the mid 70s during the day, and mid 50s at night.

What is Silver Springs

Silver Springs is a group of artesian springs that feed into the Silver River in Marion County, Florida. It is the largest artesian spring in the world and the site of the oldest commercial tourist attraction in Florida, and was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1971. Its main features are the glass-bottom boat tours on the river, which have operated there, in various forms, since 1878. (The oldest and only remaining operational boat is the 'Princess Donna' built in 1934. Still in operation today but in Dunnellon FL.) Long privately owned and operated, the springs area was formerly the site of a small amusement park, Silver Springs Nature Theme Park.

Food and drink

We want everyone to have a blast, so we will be hosting an open bar. Enjoy and get your dance moves ready! There will also be water and soft drink options available at the bar. Appetizers will be passed during cocktail hour. Dinner will be served buffet style. Chicken, beef, and a pasta option for entrees. We are not able to provide specific food allergy avoidance, so please plan accordingly. We will be having a dessert bar with many different types of sweets. Please wait until after dinner is served to enjoy the treats!

What to do for the weekend

Please enjoy your weekend! There is much that the park offers - glass bottom boat tours, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. There are many different hiking trails and walking paths throughout the park for you to enjoy. We would love to see you all around the park on Saturday! If you would like to meet up with us and enjoy a boat tour, or meal together, please let us know!
