Kelly and David meet performing as romantic opposites in a quirky little musical called Return to the Forbidden Planet at New Village Arts Theatre in Carlsbad, CA.

After several weeks of talking and texting after the show closed, David finally convinced Kelly to go out on a date. They got pizza, and then Kelly watched David perform in Mixtape at the Horton Grand Theatre in downtown San Diego.

Kelly gets an apartment in Normal Heights and decides to put down roots here in San Diego.

After about a year of dating, Kelly and David visit Harry Potter World in Universal Studios. They discover David is a Slytherin, but decide that they can work through it.

Kelly meets David's boys, Carter age 12, and Clark age 7. She doesn't know anything about soccer, Star Wars, or Marvel, but they begin to educate her.

David buys his first home all on his own, and he and the boys move in to a 3 bdr man cave.

Kelly visits David's hometown of Cheyenne, Wyoming to celebrate his parents' 50th wedding anniversary and watch the Great American Eclipse.

David grows some weird facial hair for a show he was doing. Again, they decide to work through it.

Kelly finds a homeless kitten in a laundry basket in the costume room of the Horton Grand and convinces David to give him a home "just for the night." David falls in love and suddenly they are proud cat parents to baby Dash.

They dress up as Black Widow and Fat Thor for Halloween and go Trick-or-Treating. Carter and Clark decide... it's something they'll have to work through.

After 5 years of love and life together, David and Kelly purchase a home together for Carter, Clark, and Dash, and enter the happiest chapter of their relationship yet!

On a Saturday morning last spring, David proposed to Kelly. She accepted, and both of their families were thrilled.

Kelly and David are surprised with the best news of all, that they will be welcoming a baby girl in the fall of 2023.... Wedding plans had to wait just a little bit longer.

Kelly and David welcome their daughter Cleo Beverly Derouin Humphrey to the world.
