Jordan and I met on an online dating website, Match. We started messaging back and forth for a few weeks before we met. We first met at Grandpa's Maize, a corn maize designed differently each year. Of course, Jordan showed up in Cowboys hat and it was a dead giveaway it was him walking into the maize area. We played the "farmer" role quite well and both wore plaid! Woo! We matched again! :) The first date ended with a handshake and a number switch, second date Jordan received a high five after a very interesting emotional night for me, and third date we played some old school arcade games and beat him several times in Mortal Kombat. I "FINISHED HIM"! We found we both had interest in football, snowboarding, and he helped me release what I call, my inner nerd. I found the love for Star Wars. Now we may not agree on teams, DA Bears and Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs, but we did celebrate and share the love for the Chicago Cubs this year!
On our second date, we went to Rib & Chop for dinner. Fast forward almost a year later, this is where Jordan proposed to me. Anyone who knows me knows that I ask a lot of questions until I get the answer. I am not a very good movie watcher...haha. Well anyways, it was a Wednesday night and I was told to wear something nice. Of course, I asked 1200 questions and I could not figure out where we were going. We walked into Rib & Chop and I think I kind of knew at that point. We walked to a backroom and he had created signs, that his family members held that read Kelly, Will you marry me? I was so overwhelmed. I cried and he got down on one knee and asked. Greatest day ever! Great surprise and I was so happy to have his family there to celebrate this great time with us.
