Kelly and John met in October of 2020.

On their 1st date, they met at B-52’s which Kelly thought was halfway between them (it was not, ooops!). When their food came, Kelly looked John dead in the eyes and told him that she was a girl that liked to eat. Luckily, it didn’t scare John away and they quickly planned date #2!

On their 2nd date, John made all the arrangements – which included a pumpkin patch, homemade chili, apple crisp and Kelly’s first introduction to Cash. Cash quickly found his spot on her lap and John hasn’t been able to get rid of her since (good thing he already kinda liked her…. Otherwise, it was about to get real awkward).

Kelly and John (and Cash) quickly became inseparable – spending as much time together as their schedules allowed. Trips to the cabin quickly became a regular thing – even in the winter despite Kelly’s constant coldness (but the driveway is the perfect sledding hill, so she makes do). Days on the lake, whether it’s Prior or Pokegama, are among the couple’s favorites. “Captain John” is getting very skilled, and Kelly is happy to be his first mate (she might even give up her “Pontours” to him).

John and Kelly also share a mutual love of animals. Whether it’s their dog Cash, going horseback riding or playing with the foster puppies, they are all in. They are excited for the day to come when they can move out to some land and continue to bring animals into their lives.

Kelly keeps John on his toes – whether it is a new travel destination, a new home improvement project or Kelly’s newest hobby which includes fostering puppies. He eagerly accepts all challenges and (I’m sure) is constantly reminding himself that he loves her.
