The Story of Us

Brett and Kelly first met in high school during Honors English in their freshman year at Towson Catholic. Kelly’s first memory of Brett is when he read the character of Benvoilo from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and quoted the famous line “strike drum.” Brett first remembers Kelly's passion for recycling, and his constant teasing that recycling is not real. Brett and Kelly remained good friends throughout high school. Kelly had an inkling that Brett would be the one she would marry when he sang Frank Sinatra to her in the car in the TC parking lot. Brett calls "no dice" on this. After high school Kelly and Brett lost touch for a few years while they both lived out their college years. Kelly and Brett reunited when Brett transferred to Towson University where Kelly had been pursuing her English degree. It took a year before Kelly realized how much she really enjoyed spending time with Brett. Once they started dating, they instantly knew that they were meant for each other. Both Kelly and Brett graduated from Towson University and got jobs in their respective careers. Kelly and Brett started building their lives together in their home in Perry Hall with their cat Griffin, named after Kelly’s favorite books. Later another member joined their family, their adopted dog named Solo, after Brett’s favorite movies. Shortly after Solo’s arrival Brett proposed to Kelly by driving her out to a wooded area and getting down on one knee. Kelly was a bit concerned about this until he pulled out the ring and asked her to marry him. She said yes, but quickly asked if he had asked her Dad first. He assured her he had asked and her Dad replied, “Are you sure you really want to?” which Brett did.
