Four score and seven years ago (but in reality, about a year) we decided it was probably time to fill the government in on our relationship status.

We always knew a traditional wedding was not in our future. Kelly had been following a photographer who focused on "adventure elopements" which we both agreed would be perfect for us. We reached out to her and were lucky to be one of the 15 for the year she would photograph! (@adventureinstead - I'm obsessed with her work so recommend a follow!)

On the day of the ceremony the weather forecast was not looking good. It had rained all day the day before and it was forecasted to continue. We got ready in our Airbnb not knowing if the helicopter would be able to take off, but fate must have also been thinking "freaking finally" because the weather held off and we were able to get airborne! (after a quick pause to go back and grab Kelly's wedding dress that we accidentally left at the BnB).

We flew into the Chugach Mountain Range, with our first stop on Grasshopper Ridge. After landing, we hiked further up the ridge, Kelly stopping to put on her wedding dress (and more sticky body warmers), and then found the perfect spot to exchange our vows overlooking the Knik Glacier. From there we took a flightseeing tour over the expansive glacier to find the perfect glacial pool to land by. Brandon explored and Kelly fulfilled her dream of drinking glacial water out of a Twizzler. After a quick stop to frolic in a wildflower meadow, we ended the day with a picnic on the shore of a glacial lagoon.
