Wedding Party

Alex and I met a couple of weekends before our 25th birthdays. We were at a friend’s party on Fairlawn Road where we now live one block down on the same exact street. You could say that was Alex’s last single Saturday night. We exchanged numbers and texted until two weekends later we saw each other again at the same house. The following Thursday, Alex picked me up at my parent’s home for our first date. It just so happens that my Dad always has men’s club with his buddies on Thursday nights on the front porch. After I disclosed that information to Alex, he was a little nervous. But being the gentleman that Alex is, he came to my house, shook all the men’s hands that were sitting on the front porch and then opened the door for me to leave. We went to my favorite restaurant at the time, Mojitos. I remember how easy it was talking to Alex and that I could not stop laughing. I did not want the date to end. We ate and talked at the restaurant for hours and drove around and talked for a couple more. I guess you can say the rest is history because we were never a part after that. The last six years have been so amazing and fun. That’s how I remember Alex and I meeting. However, I guess you could say we really met when we were in Pre-School at Beulah Presbyterian Church. We also were in the same first grade class together at St. Gabriel. In our class picture, Alex and I are sitting next to one another on the top row. Alex’s family during that time use to live 5 minutes from where my parents still live today. They took Alex on walks in my neighborhood and around the circle where I lived and played my entire childhood. As we grew up we had similar friends in high school and college. It seems like we were always suppose to be, but meant to meet officially and be together in 2019. We are thankful to our friends and family who have helped us grow and supported us along the way. We cannot wait for our wedding. Cheers to the future Graehlers!
