Our Wedding

Kelly and Chewy met through a dating app for working professionals called The League.&nbsp;Their first date was on May 10, 2018 at The Presidio restaurant in Houston.&nbsp;They both learned they graduated with accounting degrees so the evening was spent with exciting discussions about the exhilarating lives of being public accountants.&nbsp;You have no idea what kind of passion this kind of talk can create.&nbsp;There was such a spark created that night the restaurant would later catch on fire.&nbsp;Seriously.&nbsp;The restaurant caught on fire some time later and had to close due to the fire.&nbsp;No doubt the embers left from that first date were the reason. Over the next two years Kelly and Chewy spent a lot of time together growing even closer.&nbsp;There were sporting events, trips to various places including Cabo and London, time with each other’s families, watching shows and movies, and LOTS of Mexican food.&nbsp;Kelly even became attached to Chewy’s two dogs Chopper and Sterling.&nbsp;The time flew by and they grew closer every moment. In early 2020 before the pandemic hit Kelly and Chewy talked about making things long term.&nbsp;Chewy knew he was going to propose.&nbsp;He wanted to surprise Kelly so he didn’t let on with all of his plans.&nbsp;On a whim they went and looked at open houses one weekend together.&nbsp;They found a house they absolutely loved and decided to make an offer.&nbsp;This was in February.&nbsp;They closed on the house in March with plans to move in during May after some updates. What Kelly never realized before they made the offer on the house was Chewy had grand plans to propose in Cabo on their two-year first date anniversary on May 10, 2020.&nbsp;This was the reason he was waiting and being coy with his intentions.&nbsp;Both families knew along with Kelly’s two best friends but they were sworn to secrecy.&nbsp;They did an outstanding job as poor Kelly never had any clue.&nbsp; The pandemic hit and postponed the original plans for Cabo on May 10th to the middle of June.&nbsp;The pandemic continued and the June trip was postponed indefinitely as well.&nbsp; Knowing he couldn’t wait forever Chewy decided to propose at that burned out restaurant caused by the embers they created on their first date. On June 2, 2020 Chewy dropped to one knee and asked Kelly to be his wife.&nbsp;She said yes and they went and celebrated with friends and family over some Mexican food.&nbsp;Where else did you think they would go? So here we are.&nbsp;There’s a wedding set for May 15, 2021 at Armadillo Palace in Houston, Texas.&nbsp;Love’s journey is never straight and expected but it’s always worth it.&nbsp;Just ask Kelly and Chewy.

Their Story

The wedding and reception will be at Armadillo Palace located at 5015 Kirby Dr. in Houston. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 in the evening with dinner and reception to follow. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 2929 Westpark Dr., Houston, TX 77005. It's half a mile from the venue. The rate is $109 per night and can be booked by calling the hotel directly at 713-661-5669 and mention the Proch and Redding Wedding Group Block. If you're wanting something a little different there's lots of hotels in Downtown. These include the Four Seasons, Hotel Icon, Allessandra, and the Marriott Marquis which has the giant Texas shaped lazy river and pool. Downtown is about 5 miles from the venue. We have a special rate of $189 for the Marriott Marquis which is a really great rate. We aren't requesting any gifts due to us having everything we need.&nbsp;&nbsp;Seriously.&nbsp;Amazon put a Prime sign in front of our house it stops so often.
