November 7th, 2018
We matched on Hinge on November 1st. At the time I was out with some friends from college in Manchester, NH.
We talked for a couple days and decided to meet at T-Bones in Salem, NH.
I drove myself and Jeremy Ubered because his car was in the shop at the time. He showed up a couple minutes late and I told him we had a 10 minute wait. He giggled his nervous laugh the WHOLE 10 minutes.
Once we got seated, we talked about the strangest things like WWII and conspiracies.
I asked Jeremy if he wanted a ride home after our dinner because Andover was just off 93. He gladly accepted and off we took.
At the time Jeremy was staying with Donna and Shawn, while he finished closing on his condo. During our ride to their house, 93 was having construction done and the S lanes were closed. We got off with the detour and Jeremy began directing me where to turn.
Next thing I know, we’re lost ! He did not know where we were and for some reason… wouldn’t put their address into the GPS. At this point I was a little sketched out…
He finally figured out the address, I put into my phone, and we finally pulled into their driveway.
The car wasn’t even halfway up the driveway or parked and he JUMPED out of the car and said BYE !
I was flabbergasted.
Sitting in traffic headed back to NH, I received a text from Jere saying, “I had such a good time and hope to see you again soon.”
The following week I got a cold from my students but, Jeremy was very persistent in wanting to see me. I told him I was too sick to go out but he kept offering to take care of me, bring me soup, smoothies, and other care kits.
Jeremy’s kindness finally broke through my cold heart and here we are 5 years later, the rest is history!
From December 1st to the 25th I stared at this ring sized box all wrapped up with a bow, under the Christmas tree.
I shook it, I weighed it, heck, I even smelled it!
How could he torture me like this for a whole month?
On December 23rd, 2022, Jeremy and I packed up my car with the presents for my family and the little box too. I got through my 1/2 day before Holiday break and drove straight to the Cape to be with my parents.
Jeremy stayed in Andover to be with Donna and Shawn for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Then they packed up their car, the dog, and came down to the Cape!
After a couple drinks and snacks we began to open the remaining presents. Then my mom said to Jeremy, “Are you ready?”
Jeremy then handed me the box. He said, “Turn around and open it.”
I ripped into the box so fast and opened it. Inside the little Kay Jewelers box was a folded up note, “Turn around.” So I did!
There was Jeremy, down on one knee, in front of the Christmas tree and with our families around us.
Christmas will always be my favorite holiday.
