About the Couple
How did Kelly and Seth meet?
We swiped right. On Tinder and on Bumble. Lol.
After multiple dinner, drinks, and coffee date offers, Kelly finally agreed and gave Seth a shot. Best decision ever.
Favorite TV Show?
Bob's Burgers! Brooklyn 99 is a close second. We are the perfect mix of Bob and Linda + Jake and Amy. :)
When did the couple get engaged?
11.7.2020. On the bluffs of the Missouri River, on perhaps the most beautiful November day, Seth pulled off a total surprise with Kelly's family by their sides. The couple enjoyed an engagement-moon at The Elms in Excelsior Springs, MO, a haunted spa/resort.
What have Seth and Kelly been up to lately?
The couple moved out to Columbia, MO in 2020 amidst the pandemic for Kelly to begin residency. Kelly is currently a PGY2 Resident at University of Missouri Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Seth is currently working with McLarty Automative Group as an IT Systems Specialist.
Will last names be changing after the wedding?
Kelly will be legally remaining Dr. Kelly L Schmidt. Keeping the Schmidt name in her future practice as an Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeon is extremely important to her. However, she is happy to be addressed as Mrs. McCormick. Together, please feel free to refer to us as the McCormick's, the Schmidt-McCormick's, Mr. and Mrs. McCormick. Mr. Seth McCormick and Dr. Kelly Schmidt, or Kelly's personal favorite, the Schmicormick's.
About the Event
Where is the wedding?
The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held at Three Pines in Petersburg, IL.
Can I get directions to Three Pines?
Three Pines is located at 510 West Sheridan Road, Petersburg, IL 62675. It is located West of the downtown Petersburg square, atop a large hill.
Why Three Pines?
Amidst pandemic planning, Kelly and Seth decided to pursue a smaller wedding, in hopes that even with restrictions, their big day would go without a hitch. Three Pines was the first location they found, and it was love at first sight. It is a beautiful, recently renovated mansion that serves as an Air BnB as well as a venue. With its beautiful lawn, ornate antiques, stunning rooms, and lovely barn, it was the perfect venue for their intimate "I Do's".
May we bring additional guests?
We ask that only named guests on the RSVP be in attendance to the wedding. Due to the intimate nature of the event and venue, we will be unable to accommodate a larger group. Thank you for your understanding.
Can we bring our children to the ceremony/reception?
We love your children, but ask that you please make this an adult-only event. Again, given the small venue and intimate nature of our ceremony, we are unable to accommodate little ones. Thank you for understanding!
May I take photos at your wedding?
We have hired an AMAZING photographer. We love her work, and we are confident that she will capture the best aspects of our day. We also have a videographer that will be assisting in memorializing all the joy of the day. Please refrain from photography during the ceremony, cake cutting, and first dances. There is nothing worse than a beautiful photo riddled with iPhones/cameras. You may take as many as you'd like at our photo area, cocktail hour, and reception! Thank you for helping us capture our day.
What time is the event and when should I arrive?
The ceremony will start at 4:30 pm, sharp. "Doors" open at 4:00pm. Prior to that, we ask that only bridal party, immediate family, and those helping with set up be present.
Will the wedding be outdoors?
Yes! Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors. The cocktail hour will also be outdoors, with dinner/reception between an outdoor tent and the barn on site.
Is there parking available at the venue
Parking is limited at the event site. We ask that guests carpool when possible. Please reserve closest parking spots for our loved ones with mobility restrictions. Thank you.
Who do I contact with other questions?
Please feel free to contact Kelly or Seth directly, though let's be honest, Seth is much responsive via phone given Kelly's crazy schedule.
Additionally, you may reach out to either mother of the bride, Shelley Schmidt, or mother of the groom, Tammy McCormick.
Please also feel free to email us at schmicormick22@gmail.com.
When are RSVP's due?
RSVP's are due by September 1, 2022.
Health and Safety Information
Will masks be required?
We will continue to abide by WHO/CDC guidelines. Safety is of enormous importance to us. Kelly's job unfortunately brings her to the tough side of COVID, dealing with incredibly sick individuals on a regular basis. We would be heartbroken if any of our family/friends were to fall ill after attending our big day. Thank you for remaining safe during this difficult time.
Will you require vaccinations?
In short, yes!
We are so grateful to have the opportunity to celebrate this occasion with our dearest family and friends. Providing a safe and comfortable atmosphere amidst COVID-19 is of the utmost importance to us.
Because each of you are so important to us, we respectfully request guests be fully vaccinated and remain in accordance with current health and safety guidelines for this event.
We appreciate your support and love during this challenging time. Please reach out with questions/concerns.
