Our Wedding

Joe &amp; Kelly first met through one of Kelly’s friends’ in the spring of 2017. They became close in the spring of 2018 and remained friends until the spring of 2019 quickly becoming the best of friends; later choosing to start dating that fall. In the coming months Joe stood by Kelly’s side and helped her in any way he could as she worked full time, cared for McKenzie, was pregnant with Mason and even while she cared for her Grandmother Linda. Joe quickly became a very dear friend to Linda as well ; watching football and basketball with her, cooking for her, all while entertaining Linda’s wild stories of the past and odd conversations. Over time Joe became a father to McKenzie showing yet more acts of love and kindness proving he was ready for more. Joe and Linda even chose Mason’s name together after an OSU QB Mason Rudolph. Linda passed away in March of 2020 leaving behind the greatest gift for Joe &amp; Kelly. It is with great pride and gratitude that they welcomed their first son in May of 2020. The next year would be a whirlwind passing in a flash. Joe’s father became ill suddenly in 2021 passing in April that year. Kelly and Joe endured many obstacles as a couple during this time leading them to do tremendous amounts of work and growth emotionally to prove unbreakable. Since then the family they’ve created has thrived and grown to be strong in times of doubt. Their son Mason is 5 and has become a quirky, loving, and fun version of his parents with hints of personality from loved ones lost along the way. McKenzie is 13 but continues to carry her grandmothers sweet kindness, her feisty attitude, and general love for life and all the people in hers. Joe and Kelly have settled into a routine with two children 2 dogs and a life they love. Joe and Kelly have said they couldn’t be more proud of their family and enjoy spending time together fishing at Lake Texhoma, hunting at their lease , taking vacations and doing life together in general. The family also enjoys spending time with Kelly’s parents John and Aileen as well as with Joe’s’ mother Patti as often as possible. Joe loves to cook and entertain and Kelly loves seeing Joe happy while he is cooking for those he loves most. Kelly is still painting in her free time, drinks wine and reads books, last year she Joined the Chamber of Commerce and enjoys helping coordinate community events. Recently Joe has become interested in going into business for him self allowing him the freedom to spend more quality time with his family. Kelly currently works for the local municipality where they live and together they are building a strong future. Joe Hughes 

Kit and Joe go back to 2008 the rattlesnake shots and Rodeo nights forged a bond that has lasted beyond the neon lights & bucking bulls. Shoot Kit says Joe says they still got one good ride left in them, but judging from the current state of ol’ Joes knees his Wife and our Photographer and I think that’s highly unlikely.

Kitrick ‘Kit’ Bingham 

Dream come true wife to be to Joe Hughes, Mother to their son Mason Drake and mother to McKenzie Laine Somers. 

Kelly Somers 

Kelly’s childhood best friend since Mrs. Rains class in 3rd grade. Lindsey is still putting up with Kelly’s CRAZY ideas. Even now,  25+ years later Kelly and Lindsey still enjoy playing dress up and chasing dreams  and making milestones together.

Lindsey Gilbert 

Jason and Joe have been talking shit and hurting each other’s feelings for 17+ years. Jason and Joe met riding bulls at club Rodeo back when they were still young and limber. They play golf together and although Joe may have a better back swing and Long drive he still lets Jason win  the Birthday Bash golf game from time to time. Joe and Jason have been through many life changes together and continue to stand beside each other to this day. 

Jason Steadman 

The best night you’ll never want to remember in your life, Gemma and Kelly are a combination of “Gemma that’s not a good idea” and “Kelly get over here and help me get this road sign.” Gemma has also saved Joes life as well, still no lesson learned. From tequila shots to wrestling tournaments, baseball weekends, and everything in between, these two have become the glue holding their lives together. Thank god for ultras and girls nights on the back porch. 

Gemma Foutch

Joe and Justin have been friends since high school, long time friends, always supporting each other from afar, but keeping in close contact having lunch at Tacoville any chance they get. Joe was so honored to be a part of Justin and Lindsay’s big day in 2024 and it solidified the lifelong friendship they knew they would have. In turn Joe wanted to repay the honor by having Justin by his side as well. 

Justin Thompson 

Kelly and Amanda met through Jason one of Joe’s best men, instantly Kelly felt welcomed into their home and lives , Amanda always has a way of making people feel so seen, heard, and appreciated. Since then Kelly and Amanda have created a friendship of love and support. Amanda has always supported Joe and Kelly no matter the circumstances and been a great help when helping them wade through the high water life can bring without judgment.

Amanda Steadman

Kelly and Jacob met at a little league football game in middle school, quickly became friends even though Jacob attended a different school. Over the years Jacob and Kelly would attend MATC together and run into each other from time to time through mutual friends and parties. Kelly has enjoyed watching Jake grow and change over the years but still staying true to himself. Joe and Jake met about 6 years ago and quickly bonded in the absence of their mutual friend in common. Over time Jake has become a staple name out our house as Joe and Jake are always talking hunting fishing job stress and family life. Kelly and Joe have enjoyed watching Jacob and his wife Karley and their family grow and look forward to many more years. 

Jacob Jones 

McKenzie is Kelly’s daughter. More fondly known as McK (Mak) Mac-n-Chees, or Big Mac to those who love her most, McKenzie is a sweet, fiery, tiny version of her  and her Grandmother Linda. McKenzie spent so much time with Linda as a little girl  while Kelly worked, it was hard for her to not be like Linda. Having McKenzie here today apart of such an important day to Kelly and Joe is like having Linda still here. In a younger more feisty way. 

McKenzie Somers 

Mason is all the best parts of Joe and Kelly , he is smart, funny, and says the most off the wall stuff. He is 5 years old full of love and life. Mason like Kelly and Joe has never met a stranger and if you get him started on hunting or Kendal Gray he’s non stop. He is daddy’s favorite hunting buddy and mommy’s little helper. He helped Kelly with flower arrangements while shooting 10 point bucks in the backyard after. Kelly and Joe are so excited to share this experience together with their children. 

Mason Hughes 

Kelly and Jessica met in 2004 through a friend at church, they shared of love for singing in their little country church often singing in ensembles during worship services. What started with UMC Mudd-Fest quickly became a tethering of two hearts hell bent on changing the trajectory of each others lives. Jessica has always been a steady constant even during times of distance. Jessica also provided in home care to Kelly’s grandmother Linda personally and that will never go under appreciated. Linda loved to hear the girls singing especially her old Cokesbury hymns. Jessica honored their friendship by having Kelly in her wedding to William and let Kelly have free rein on the floral arrangements at their wedding in 2018. Kelly couldn’t let that go unnoticed. Kelly and Jess are like peanut butter and jelly separately wonderful but magical together.

Jessica Dees

David and Joe met through Eric of course at the bar riding bulls…. Are you seeing a theme here?????? David is a no questions asked kind of friend. He’s always there in a pinch, though he may be a busy man he’s never too busy for the ones who mean the most. Let’s just say if you needed to do something, David is the guy who says “who’s truck we taking?” 

David Brinkley 

Another meeting of the minds at Cowboys OKC , but at the time was it was called Club Rodeo, Joe met Eric when Joe asked to borrow his helmet, Eric of course was willing and shocked that Joe wanted to ride. Eric and Joe have grown through many life challenges staying in touch throughout life’s many seasons. One of Eric’s many great qualities is he’s always someone Joe can call when he needs the brutal truth. Honest to a fault Eric knows who he is and where he stands. It’s a quality Joe admires. 

Eric Linn 

What started in 2021 as a working relationship quickly turned to a communal meeting of similar souls. Kelly worked for and along side She’Lea at City National bank, at one point for 6 months just the two of them running a branch driving sales accounts and business while single-handedly becoming bonded by CDs and nights at the twilight club. Lovingly known to those who love her as Shey-Shey she helped Kelly become a better banker and friend with her constant wealth of patience.  Though life has lead them in separate directions they have stayed close through so many life changes. Bonding through high turn over rates is a thing.

She’Lea Mitchell 

Joe and David met at Cowboys in 2007 through an old friend and hit it off immediately. While David may be wiser in years, he humored Joe’s light hearted spirit and has been a steadfast friend even taking Joe in during times of need. David is more of a big brother to Joe, his willingness to humor Joes judgment is unmatched yet has no problem having the hard conversations when needed. Thank God for David’s wife Chrissy, who was willing to put up with them in the same household, no telling where they would be. David has always been everything a guy could ask for in a big brother. 

David Nichols 

Kelly and Ashley met at SWOSU in 2009. Ashley lived down the hall and they had mutual friends, on a whim at a dorm party Kelly reached out to make a friend and found a kindred soul in Ashley. Ashley was shy and quiet at first but when they started working together at Valero the dynamic changed Ashley was like sunshine and smart as hell. Ashley pushed Kelly to follow her heart and her dreams eventually after some boy trouble Kelly and Ashley ended up roommates together. In their first experience no longer in the dorms and no longer living with their parents Kelly and Ashley forged a bond impossible to break. Throughout life changes major changes, boy troubles, sorority, and life changes Kelly and Ashley stayed in touch watching as each created beautiful lives of their own. Kelly will forever be grateful for meeting Ashley at the time in her life when she needed someone most. She helped keep the homesickness to minimum, picked up the pieces after a bad breakup and helped Kelly find herself again.
