The Lincoln Park Zoo holds a special place in our hearts - it’s where we often met for lunch dates. With skyline views, incredible exhibits, and free admission (though we’re proud members), it’s the gem of the city. The African Safari exhibit is a must-see, and the seals will always remind us of the year Jason adopted a harbor seal for Kelly’s birthday. Though that seal has since passed (we love you Swimmy!), the memory remains one of our favorites. If you find yourself visiting on the wedding morning, don’t be surprised if you spot Kelly enjoying a quiet stroll there.
If you’re looking for a fun way to see the city, hop on a Wendella boat tour! It’s a relaxing cruise down the Chicago River with great views of the skyline and a little bit of history and architecture mixed in. A classic Chicago experience! Bring Layers!
P.S. Kelly and Jason will be recreating the famous boat tour scene from My Best Friend’s Wedding ahead of the wedding.
Right around the corner from our hotel and venue, the Art Institute is a great spot to wander for a couple of hours. You’ll find everything from famous classics to cool modern art. No... we have never been, BUT it is close to the Palmer House and venue, and we have heard great things!
