WHERE TO STAY: Our wedding weekend coincides with a UT Austin football game day, so anticipate increased activity throughout the city. Securing early bookings for flights, restaurants, and accommodations is important.

1) The Hotel Van Zandt will serve as a hub for the wedding. A room block is available at The Hotel Van Zandt (605 David Street, Austin 512-542-5300). The link to make reservations is https://book.passkey.com/event/50760347/owner/13462836/home

Free amenities under a block reservation include: wifi, welcome beverage check in and welcome snack bag, nightly social hour from 5 pm - 6 pm in the lobby with free wine, beer, and margaritas, fitness center, use of bicycles based on availability, and coffee/tea in Cafe 605 every morning. Please note, if you stay at a different location than the Van Zandt and want to be on the party bus to the rehearsal dinner, please let us know so we can save a place for you.

2) If you are looking for a quieter experience with less traffic than downtown, you may want to look at the Omni Barton Creek Resort (8212 Barton Club Drive 512-329-4000). If you want to go the vacation home rental route, the following neighborhoods are close to the wedding venue and will keep you a little more out of game day traffic: Bouldin Creek, Zilker, South Lamar, and Travis Heights. Any accommodation South of Ladybird Lake (below what looks like a river through downtown) may be closer to the venue and the rehearsal dinner if you don’t want to stay downtown.

TRANSPORTATION:

Flying in? Considering the increased weekend traffic due to the game and the relatively high cost of hotel parking (around $59 per night plus tax and tip), opting for a taxi or Uber instead of renting a car might be a better choice if you're flying in. If your accommodations are downtown, most places are within walking distance, making it convenient to explore on foot, rental scooter, or bike.

Driving in? Please keep in mind that the highways leading from key Texas cities might be busy with fans heading into the city. When scheduling your arrival and departure, factor in potential congestion to ensure a smoother trip.

For the rehearsal dinner, we will be providing party buses from Hotel Van Zandt. Again, if you aren't staying there and want to be on the bus, please let us know so we can secure you a seat.

The wedding venue does not allow party buses due to tree height on the entry; we are evaluating other transportation options, so stay tuned.

Please allow ample time to get to events due to higher traffic on game day weekends.
