Our Story

Kelsey and Austin first met how all millennials meet each other nowadays, on dating apps - yes apps. They matched on both Tinder and Bumble. And she doesn’t let him forget it.

It started off at a glacial pace but soon the two were hanging out, rock climbing, camping, or taking Kelsey’s dog - the late Charles Brown - for a walk more and more frequently.

They discussed dreams and goals which aligned almost perfectly with each other. When Austin finally worked up the courage to say, “I think I’m in love with you,” Kelsey had a response he’d never forget, “I loved you a month ago!”

Then they downsized (one of their goals) and moved in together. In their small one-bedroom apartment, they discussed life, goals, trips, and they remained in sync.

Once Austin got the you-better-not-mess-this-up talk from his sister, Tyler, and Kelsey learned Austin could handle himself in a diabetic emergency, Austin started looking for a ring. And started planning.

The hope was to have a nice relaxing weekend at the beach for Austin’s 30th birthday where he would propose at sunset in the sand. But unbeknownst to him, Kelsey had other plans. The quiet vacation with just the two of them turned into a stay-cation with his entire family and a party with sixty of his closest friends.

Austin decided to wait.

The family went home and the friends, back to work. But Austin still wanted his sunset on the water proposal (for Kelsey, of course). So they went for a walk. Where they usually go. Across the bridge at Drake Park, overlooking the Deschutes river, with a cloudy sunset.

She said yes...
