Connor was the very first person I met in Fayetteville, since he was the one who moved me into my college dorm room, as my R.A. A few weeks later, I attended a campus-wide talent show with my friends, Zach and Lauren, to support a friend from high school. Little did I know, Connor played guitar in a rock band and was performing in the same talent show. Not only did he get second place, but he won me over too!

Connor and I love hiking, so we planned a trip to Fayetteville to celebrate his birthday. Connor suggested we watch the sunrise on top of Hawksbill Crag, a well-known peak at the top of a hiking trail in the area. We woke up at 3:00 in the morning on October 21st, drove an hour into the woods and climbed the trail in the dark. At the top, we had coffee and watched the sunrise together. We asked another couple if they would take our picture and as I turned to pose with Connor, he was already down on one knee. Needless to say, I said yes!
