I had not been to a wedding in ages and when my mother called me and said that she had set me up, I immediately began to think of ways to get out of it, but my mother was adamant, I had to go. She told me that Kelsey was going to call and that I had no choice but to say yes. I spent the whole next day arranging my suit and being consumed by anxiety, I really didn’t want to go. I arrived at the wedding rehearsal dinner a good 30 minutes beforehand, just waiting in the parking lot. As the time approached, I just prayed and wished that she was beautiful. I knew who she was and our families had been friends throughout the years, but I honestly couldn't remember what she looked like. Well, the time arrived and when she stepped out of her car I was both blown away and completely relieved. That night, the conversation flowed and she had built up enough courage to ask me to change her license plate, which luckily enough I was good with a screwdriver. Little did I know that was the day my life changed. She has put up with my soccer addiction, she even traveled to Nashville to see Aston Villa play a preseason friendly, she has put up with every quirk and fault that I have and I am have been made a better person and man by being her boyfriend, fiancé and eventually husband.
