Good thing this story is not in a book, or we would have to blow the dust off the cover! Kelsey & SL met in the fall of 2016 when Kelsey was a freshman at Point University and SL was in his sophomore year at Point. Kelsey was on the softball team and SL was on the baseball team. Quickly, Kelsey found one of her forever best friends, Sadie also a freshman at Point for softball. As the memories were quickly made each day they began to grow closer with more of our teammates and the baseball players. One evening after chapel, Kelsey & Sadie went over to some of the baseball player's apartment, this ended being Kyle & SL's apartment. This is where Kelsey & SL hung out for the first time. He claims she was acting shy in the corner, but this was also the first time he had her famous buffalo chicken dip. As time goes by Kelsey & SL became two of the best of friends, always having a good time together and being there for one another. SL was too cool for a relationship in college if you ask him. Even though SL graduated a year before Kelsey and moved to Columbia, South Carolina they never lost that close bond that they shared. They kept that close bond and would often see each other throughout the years with trips to Thomaston, Georgia hanging out with Kyle & Sadie (married in January 2021), or SL would come to West Point from time to time. Finally, March of 2023 SL asked Kelsey to come visit him in Athens, Georgia. That is when they officially began dating. After a year of an official long distance relationship Kelsey moved to Athens to be with SL (War Eagle always) and the rest is history!

Kelsey's mom, Heather, planned Christmas card photos on December 1, 2024, but little did Kelsey know that it would end with a new piece of jewelry that she would adore so much. Since Kelsey's family was already there for the photos, SL's family was hiding to see the proposal take place as well! Kelsey's ring is extra special to her as the center diamond of her engagement ring is the original diamond from her Maw-Maw's wedding ring that her Da gave her as an upgrade of her ring in 2001.
