Kelsey & Logan

From Kelsey

I first met Logan during spring semester of our freshman year at UGA through (our Best Man) Grant. Although our first interaction left much to be desired (he only spoke to me to say I was blocking his television...), by fall semester we were friends. I quickly found myself drawn to his humor, kindness, and passion for sports, history, and most importantly the Lord and soon started to develop a huge crush. That which only grew through seeing each other daily in biology, grabbing lunch after class, studying together (which was really my excuse for seeing him outside of school), and so much more. However, I was too afraid to act on my feelings, worried he did not feel the same for me. Luckily, when the end of the semester Phi Slam Date Night rolled around Kaitlyn (one of our Maids of Honor) encouraged me to bring a date. The only person I wanted by my side was Logan, so I asked and he accepted...as friends (when I very much wanted more). After a night filled with awkward pictures, lots of laughter, good food, dancing, and a whole lot of butterflies...he asked me out! I waited until the next day to respond (I did not want him to know how eager I truly was), but ultimately said an extremely excited YES! From then, we spent the rest of our college careers falling deeply in love over late night Cookout runs, trips to highlands, walks around campus, Bengals games and so many more sweet memories. After proposing to me in the exact spot where we had our first kiss...here we are, preparing to spend the rest of our lives happily together! I could not be more in love with Logan Saville, my future husband!

Kelsey and I first “met” our freshman year at UGA. I say met in quotations because really the first time we talked was when I asked her to stop blocking the TV while I was playing in my Madden Superbowl game (what a terrible first impression…). Not surprisingly, we did not start on the right foot, so it was sophomore year when we had biology class and lunch together (along with a few other friends - shoutout Kaitlyn, Grant, and Belle) before we really became friends. Along the way we started having more one-on-one time (especially after Kelsey ignored her assigned seat to sit with me) which led to us establishing a much deeper connection. Eventually, I realized that she genuinely cared for me, laughed at all my jokes (even when they were embarrassing), was excited to see me and sad when she couldn’t and I felt the same way about her. It became very clear to me at this point that I liked Kelsey, but she beat me to doing something about it when she asked me to go on a Phi Slam Date Night (which I accepted without hesitation). The whole time I was a bundle of nerves since I had decided to ask her out properly at the end of the night (thanks to a little musical nudge from Kevin that gave me the courage). When she let me know that she would love to go on a date, I proceeded to run around my apartment screaming “LETS GOOOO” (not when she was there, of course…).

Since then, we have spent a lot of time learning more and more about each other, having fun, caring for one another, and enjoying life having the other person around. Some of my favorite memories from the past few years include when we both first said “I love you” while in the car listening to the song Best Friend by Rex Orange County (who we later saw in concert on our anniversary). As well as when we had our first kiss on Spring Break in Highlands, NC with the perfect movie backdrop (at the end of a dock, looking over a frozen lake, with a blanket of fresh snow around us). Finally, I cannot forget when I proposed to her at that same Highlands location two years later, completely to her surprise (I have NO IDEA how I pulled that off!). Now, I will be able to add marrying the love of my life and best friend to this list of favorite memories and I could not be more excited to spend a lifetime making more with Kelsey Goss (soon-to-be-Saville)!
