Our Wedding

The Story truly begins the 29th day of December, 2018. Before that day,  Kelsey and Andrew were friends bound together by a group of proud Jayhawks living in the Northeast. But years and various cross country moves had diverged their paths.  Neither of them could have imagined what was to come. 
A chance conversation over social media ignited a supernatural spark that neither of them quite understood.  But fate and higher powers were bringing them together. 

From the moment he laid eyes on her at the airport he knew that his life would never be the same.  For the next six months they spent weekends traveling the country to spend time together, and their love continued to blossom.  Best friends and soul mates.

In late May, Andrew flew to California to help Kelsey finish packing the car for their journey home to Lexington.  Little did she know he had a very special ring burning a hole in his pocket.

This 25-acre property was home to the historic James E. Pepper Distillery, which began making bourbon in 1879.However, in 1958 the site was abandoned completely, untouched for nearly 50 years. Fortunately, in 2008 local entrepreneurs teamed up to bring this area back to its former glory and they did not disappoint. Since then, this revitalized piece of Lexington history has become a lively downtown destination. Today, you’ll find two working bourbon distilleries on the historic site, which serves as an anchor for the up-and-coming neighborhood. Plus, the easily walkable area combined with its diverse food and drink offerings makes the Distillery District one of Lexington’s most exciting hotspots.

There is no better way to discover the legendary landscape of the Bluegrass Region than driving or cycling the country roads around the Horse Capital of the World. Lush pastures, mile after mile of plank and stone fencing, horses grazing, magnificent homes and barns: all for your viewing pleasure!
