Our love story (technically) begins like most 21st century love stories… on a dating app. In November of 2020, Kelsey messaged James on bumble after matching with him. James responded, “wait what hospital are you going to be working at?”. Kelsey responded with the hospital in which James replied, “Hi, I’m going to be your new coworker”. James and Kelsey both graduated nursing school the same semester and would be working at the same hospital as new grads. After that, a friendship started.

It was nice being able to have someone there that was going through the same thing. Kelsey and James would text casually back and forth about graduating, taking the NCLEX, and starting the new job. In February 2021, Kelsey and James started their new job together.

Through orientation and beginning their nursing careers they continued their friendship. Kelsey and James would chat about their careers and the stresses of being a new grad. Kelsey had a crush on James but continued to be friends only scared to admit she liked a coworker.

In June of 2021, after attempts on Kelsey’s part to hang out which were not successful, James finally agreed to hangout with Kelsey. They admitted that they liked each other and shared their first kiss!

Over the next several months, James was scared to move forward with a relationship because of the two being coworkers. Kelsey persisted and then October 12, 2021 James and Kelsey had their first official date at the state fair. James posted Kelsey on social media and announced that they were a thing.

On November 10, 2021, Kelsey and James became official! Now, after several years, 2 moves across the country, many vacations, and a new dog- Kelsey and James will be getting married! We can’t wait to celebrate our love with everyone!
