In 2011, at Central Michigan University, we first met as neighbors in our dorm, Thorpe Hall. We didn’t know each other for the first half of the year until Garrett reached out as a wingman for his roommate. It turned out that Garrett was a very bad wingman, and we started to build our own relationship over the remainder of the school year. In the summer of 2012, on the Fourth of July, we made our relationship official.

Over the next seven and a half years, we navigated undergrad, grad school, med school, jobs, living eight hours apart, living together, and getting our very own puppy.

In October of 2019, we took a trip back to Mount Pleasant, and Garrett proposed on the same campus where we first met. 💍
