We met through mutual friends during Little 500 Week at Indiana University in April of 2012. We spent the last few weeks of our sophomore year together in Bloomington getting to know each other & made plans to meet again over the summer. Richie had an internship in Chicago, so Kelsey agreed to visit him there! On June 16, 2012, Richie had an evening of events planned. We went on the Spirit dinner cruise, then got drinks at The Signature Room at the top of the Hancock building, where Richie asked Kelsey to be his girlfriend!

We were on our annual trip to Cabo with my parents, a place Richie & I have been traveling to the last 5+ years we’ve been together. The third night into our trip, on January 29, 2018, we had an early dinner reservation at El Farallon at the Resort at Pedregal, which is one of the most romantic places in Cabo. (We dined at this restaurant on a previous trip & Richie had been planning to propose there ever since!) We got there before it opened & had a chance to walk around. Then the restaurant manager offered to take us to a “perfect picture spot” which was down some stairs into the rocks on the cliff of Pedregal. When we got to the bottom of the rocks, Richie got down on one knee, asked me to marry him (I said yes, of course!), & he had a photographer capturing our special moment! After the proposal, a waiter brought us champagne & we got to take our engagement photos. When it was time for our dinner reservation, my parents met us at the restaurant, and we enjoyed the evening celebrating our engagement! Everything about the proposal was perfect, including my ring! We can’t wait to get married in Cabo on our 7th anniversary of being together!
