Who's getting married?
Kelsey and Chris, duh!
Kelsey is from Central Islip, NY. She has two brothers, E.J. and Jon, a dog named Ginger, and cat named Cleo. Kelsey loves the beach, skiing, and being outside. She received her bachelors degree at St. Joseph's College(University) and her masters degree at Florida Atlantic University. Kelsey currently works as a Speech Language Pathologist in a school district. She also works part-time as a travel agent!
Chris is from Deer Park, NY. He has two sisters, Gabrielle and Catherine. Chris loves hockey and the NY Islanders. He earned his bachelors at St. Joseph's College. Chris is a strategic planning director for Mindshare. Basically, he helps decide where companies should spend their money for advertisements.
Together, Kelsey and Chris like to watch sports, drink wine, try new restaurants, and travel. They have taken many trips together and hope to continue seeing the world.
How did they meet?
Kelsey and Chris met in September of 2013 in their first college class. The course was called, "Darth Vader, Dr. Evil, and the Demonic". It was as weird as it sounds. Ironically, the professor of the class was the priest who married Kelsey's parents as well as Kelsey and Chris' aunts and uncles! Kelsey and Chris were just friends (in real life and on social media) for the first few years after they met.
Fast forward to March 12th, 2016, Chris responded to one of Kelsey's tweets with a classic dad joke. Kelsey played hard to get for a while and they didn't start officially dating until January of 2017.
Sadly, the two broke up when Kelsey moved to Florida to get her masters degree and they didn't talk for 3 years.
Eventually, the shoe was on the other foot and Kelsey messaged Chris on social media in July of 2020 to rekindle. They went out for drinks when Kelsey was home visiting and the rest was history. They dated long distance between NY and FL for a year until Kelsey decided to move back to NY in 2021. They now have an apartment together at Kelsey's parents house in Central Islip.
How did Chris propose?
Chris and Kelsey got engaged in Palm Beach, Florida. When they dated long distance, Chris would visit Kelsey every other month in West Palm Beach. They went to so many amazing places throughout the year. In May of 2023 Chris planned a long trip over Memorial Day weekend to West Palm Beach and Disney World...suspicious.
On their first night in Florida, Chris was rushing Kelsey along because they had "reservations". Chris planned the night to include 5 different locations that were special to them during their long distance journey.
The places included a rooftop bar, Kelsey's old apartment, The Breakers, a restaurant, and lastly the Lake Trail. At each location, Chris gave Kelsey a hand written note. The final note was during sunset under a gazebo with beautiful bouquets of flowers, candles, and a hidden photographer.
They celebrated their engagement at dinner that night and with numerous facetimes to close family and friends. The next day, Kelsey's friends from Florida, Addison and Shelby, planned a boat day with Chris (one of Kelsey's favorite things). Kelsey and Chris continued their journey by celebrating in Disney World. The two decided to keep the information a secret until they got back to NY so they could enjoy their engagement on their own for a few days.
